The country is not called the Republic of Ireland, the country is called Ireland. There are two entities both called Ireland, the geographic entity and political entity.

I said "Ireland hasn't been part of the United Kingdom for almost 100 years" since part of the Island of Ireland is part of the UK, I'm obviously not talking about the Island. Use your powers of deduction.

I am being precise, I'm precisley referering to the state by it's name.

EDIT:

It's like using "Great Britain" to mean "England". Or "Denmark" when you're only talking about Greenland.

A more accurate analogy would be posting something made in the USA to a Canadian forum, then when someone says it isn't relevant because it's american, claim it is relevant because Canada is in North America. Which would be ridiculous.

Pingu is a swiss cartoon? Most know this. That has nothing to do with my point and Indeed doesn't contradict it. The show is popular in the U.K.
You'd find it unusual? That doesn't mean anything. But to adress why that might be - Ireland and Britain share similar cultural aspects and values. Why do you think Father Ted and other Irish-based comedies are popular across the U.K? Irish comedy has a place across both islands because the cultural references are relatable to people on both islands.
So you're saying the Northern Irish can't identify as Irish? That I'm wrong to do so? So what was the peace process for then, because you clearly don't agree with it.

There is nothing wrong with holding nationalist views. But you're going about it as if it's still 1970.

We all know that, I never claimed you were using the wrong word, merely that you are using an overloaded one.

If you'd been talking about the island then you'd have been wrong because a part of it is still part of the UK.

If you were talking about the country "Ireland" consisting of 26 counties of the island of Ireland not including those in the province of Northern Ireland then you'd still be wrong because saying that state hasn't been part of the UK "for almost 100 years" implies that previously it was part of the UK. I can most vehemently assure you that neither the country of Ireland that currently exists or any previous country sharing it's borders or government was ever part of the United Kingdom.

If you're going to be get into a debate over technicalalities Be Precise.

Sorry to break it to you but they're not. Ireland isn't part of Britain. There is no such place as the "British Isles." There is Great Britain and Ireland.

Stating falsehoods as if they're facts doesn't make them any less false. Here, I went to the trouble of Googling for you:

The British Isles are a group of islands off the north-western coast of continental Europe that consist of the islands of Great Britain, Ireland and over six thousand smaller isles.

But feel free to stick your head in the sand and deny facts just because it offends your wishful thinking.

Do you seriously think Ireland is part of Britian? Do you think Irish people refer to themselves as British? Why don't the Irish government use the term "British Isles" if it isn't political?

Ireland is a part of the British Isles, so it is therefore British. I know it's a bit much for your edgy teenage brain to comprehend but people can identify as multiple nationalities. I myself am Welsh, British and European, none of those things contradict each other like you seem to think they do.

Your Empire is finished mate, stop trying to claim other countries.

I like how you say "your" as if you're not British yourself despite the fact that you're from Glasgow.
