I once had someone tell me that they "hated Republicans."

I asked why. The response?

“because they're the party of hate!"

What do evolution and the belief that are all equal have to do with each other? Evolution pertains to response to stimulus/environment while people being equal is a philosophical position.

people being equal is a philosophical position.

This should be true. But it's not, in application to many leftwing people (especially SJW's) who try to claim that women and men are perfectly equal.

For example, the argument that women should be admitted to the military, even though women are physically inferior to men.

Or the argument that laws should force companies to pay men and women equal amounts, even though there are a plethora in differences between a single man and a single woman that might lead to disparity in pay that is not based on sexism.

Those liberals and their Ginger hate!

I feel like that could have had a better example.

This is a terrible way to facilitate discussion.

I came to this sub to try to find intelligent conservative discussions to try to get exposure to the other side of the fence. Maybe I was expecting too much, but regardless I was vastly disappointed.

I'm sad to see this downvoted instead of responded to. Why is /u/Biscuit29 wrong?

Maybe I was a bit too harsh. I mean, I'm not trying to say ALL of this sub is empty of content. Some discussions on this sub have made me critically think about viewpoints I took for granted. But it seems like for every 1 good discussed thread there are 10 of these shitposts.

Most people who actively post here will engage in meaningful conversation. Posts like these are horrible.

This is not the debating parlor of the Royal Society. Sometimes (very often!) we get a kick out of poking fun at liberals. Untwist your knickers.

Found the socialist.

My goodness this sub sometimes. This is the strawmaniest strawman in the history of strawman.

I'm very conservative but this is really fucking dumb.

  1. What the fuck does evolution have to do with treating people equally.

  2. I have never heard this as a liberal or conservative argument. Both parties want our education system to improve and they always have.

  3. Are you fucking serious? I'm done.

Yeah, I agree. This is just a good way to paint a bad picture of someone not precent. And I have never heard a liberal say almost any of those things they claim, or there "counter" thoughts. Stupid.

Where have you been?

In the real world talking to everyday people about politics.

As if you were EVER conservative.

Nice 3rd point, extremely good reason you give there.

The third point was meant to be listed as number 5 because it corresponded with number 5 on OP's image. For some reason it won't change that.

I will expand on this #5 because I personally think it is the worst one on the entire list:

The image says "(Liberals) Claim:'Discrimination is wrong!'" "Contradictory Claim: Gingers have no souls? Hilarious!"

We are comparing something that is obviously said in jest to a race that was suppressed in a terrible way for centuries. Gingers were not taken from their homeland, forced to work for no pay, tortured, and finally given freedom after our countries most deadly war. Gingers were not given the illusion of freedom for a century, they were not further oppressed by political corruption that lead to another 100 years of inequality. However, they did have pale skin, red hair and freckles.

It is definitely true though, gingers are oppressed all around the country today. Just a tiny example: In order to reduce their risk of skin cancer they have to apply more sunscreen than the average Caucasian because sunburn can occur more easily on them. Also, Satan and his wife Trey Stone claimed that Gingers have no souls in their highly informative documentary, South Park.

This hate for gingers needs to stop before it ruins this country.

This is more like double talk exposed than explained.

I hate how people on both sides talk about "Liberals."

None of the progressive idiots of today are Liberals, they just adopted the term.

Liberals are the real racists. They are the ones who care so much about race. They are the ones who think the other races are lower than them and think they need all this help. They are the ones who use it as a political platform and initiate race war every damn time there's a black person killed by a cop. We could not give two shits unless they perform or behave badly.

This is the short list.

Of course, for many of these points, the liberals saying the one on the left are mostly different people from the liberals saying the one on the right

It should also be considered that many of these arguments are made up/ of a small minority/ horribly misrepresented for the sake of shitpost.

This should be linked to in the side bar permanently.

[–]SMSgtBrownReagan Conservative 1

Minorities aren't stupid, the decisions of individuals are and they're surrounded by pressures a lot of people will never have. Like him or not, Obama is a smart guy, as well as Ben Carson.

Here are my opinions, just food for thought. Everyone thinks differently but I don't think bickering between one crisply defined set and another is ever going to solve anything. We could go on for days if you decided to respond point by point, so I'm going to do my best to not get into it with anyone.

Again, these are just my thoughts on the post, I don't want to participate in a flame war.

7, 8, 11, 21 -- I don't understand out of ignorance

2 -- I simply don't understand.

1, 3, 5, 9, 12, 13, 14, 16, 17 -- All have either made up contradictory claims or misrepresent liberals.

And I have specific points about the rest.

4- Minorities have worst test scores because they live in poorer communities and go to worse schools. You might think they're lazier as well as poorer, and I'm not going to argue that. But if either is true, it stems from 300 years of racism that (almost) everyone has been trying to fix for 30 years.

6- Decriminalization of drugs would help addicts get treatment instead of incarcerating them because of their mental health.

10- Yeah pretty much.

15- "The man" isn't necessarily government. In my opinion it's big money.

18- The flat tax simply isn't fair.

  • Say one person makes $1000 while someone else makes $10000. If there's a flat tax of 10% one pays $100 (net $900) while the other pays $1000 (net $9000).

  • If enough food to survive costs $90 the poorer person is paying 10% of their income while the other is paying 1%.

19- Fair enough

20- I don't feel like getting too into this one. First of all, everyone thinks energy prices are too high. Carbon tax is good for the environment, unless you don't believe in man made climate change.

22- Oh come on.

23- I agree

That is a frightening argument. You should be arguing that it's not fair that one guy pays 100x what the other guy pays while likely using fewer social resources (medicare, section 8, etc. etc.). Based on your logic fairness only occurs when both people require 10% of their income to be spent on food. Or a 99.1% tax rate. This, to you, is "fair?" Fair is equal opportunity, not equal outcome regardless of effort and/or ability.

I've never understood the argument that a flat tax is not fair. 10% to someone making 10k per year compared to someone making 100k has the exact same impact on both parties, it all works out. Flat tax for the win.

Yeah that makes sense I suppose. But do you think that someone making more than half a million dollars should pay the same tax rate on the additional income as someone's first $50,000?

Edit: And I'm not saying they should be equal (99.1%), I'm just saying it's a lot easier to survive on 9000 than 900.
