It's the latter. Sanders supporter and member of the cabal here. The mods of /r/SandersForPresident (who have been condemning this racist rhetoric) confirmed that the Sanders sub was brigaded by outside scum. Basically, there was an attempt to hijack this for racist purposes. Some Sanders supporters, who were frustrated and confused by the incident, went along with it. But the majority of us are trying to end it. We are not the enemy and we should not let the racist Stormfront types split apart the left this way. We can't let them win.

Oh, absolutely. Don't misunderstand, I'm aware of the Sanders supporters that are in this. This brigading by CTers wouldn't work without the sheer volume of brogressives.

The one thing I would say is there is a big difference between those of us who are actually politically organizing for Bernie, have actually voted in the past and will vote again, and are... adults, frankly - and in contrast there are a ton of 16 year old white boys who can't even vote, are EXTREMELY susceptible to circlejerking, and will probably never volunteer or vote even once they're 18.

But I'm well aware of the brogressives.

You're right, I'm sure a large contingent of that is actual Sanders supporters. I know of brogressives, but usually they think they're allies even if they don't do shit about it or care too much -- generally they're theoretically in favor of racial equality. So, the level of extreme vitriol lately made me think, this can't be from an "I don't realize my casual racism" type, and had to be from a "I legitimatly think black people are less good" type.

It's getting insane lately. In a way, I'm glad it's making people come right out in front with their attitudes, instead of passively hiding behind the"I'm a liberal, dude, its just a joke" line. Hopefully people start to realize that they aren't joking and wise up. But I fear the conclusions they may come to.

I don't think it's a no true scostman thing. I didn't say no true Bernie supporter is racist, I said most of the people who were racist weren't Bernie supporters. Being racist doesn't prevent you from loving Sanders, and there were plenty of Bernie lovers who were racist, but by and large I don't think the Sanders fanboys were any more racist than the rest of reddit. If anything, they were probably less.

Sadly not a joke. People genuinely thought that Sanders having a bad fifteen minutes and losing his campaign time slot once was comparable to generations of black oppression.
