I remember being young and a news crew was on my street doing a live reporting on a kid who was bitten by a dog in our neighborhood. So my 2 friends and I ran behind the lady a good distance away but still in the shot and were dancing and being goofs. The cameraman shooed us out of the spot with an angry hand gesture and we ran away. We then came back when they were done and tried to strike up a convo with the camera guy about the story since we knew the kid. And he's like "YEA WHATEVER THANKS FOR RUINING THAT SHOT!" all angry and huffy. We were like "shit man, we were just being dumb kids"

But is it really racism if you just get scared by someone's skin color? You are not discriminating against them... you are just scared of them. You need to understand, that there are not many black people in those countries, hell I am in central EU and I have seen less than 10 black people in my life. 7 actually, 3 were exchange medicine students. 1 was a random kid when I was in theater in school. And the other's were random people on the streets (tourists). The kid was probably the only black person who lived here. Anyway, if suddenly a black person appears I'd be very surprised.

When I (as a caucasian) was visiting China with my Chinese-born wife, there were entire days in the middle of cities where I didn't see anyone who wasn't Asian. The chinese people around me kept commenting on the caucasian taking public transit, the caucasian eating at local restaurants, etc. I was sitting in a restaurant one day and the guy riding by on a bicycle out front ran into the back of a parked van because he was staring in through the window at the caucasian.

I'm not surprised someone would get started by someone with dark skin in an area like that.
