Is the 0x000 address just some default address that is used if a noob fucks up in the console when trying to transfer coins?

If I want to import my coins from the pre-sale and play around with transfering them, whats the easiest way atm?

Or should I just wait for new tools and apps to be released if I am asking this question?

Safest way would be to create a private test network , with no internet connection. And then import your wallet, transferring and manually mining the blocks yourself.

Warning: don't connect to the internet because if someone else sees transactions signed by you they can publish them in a replay attack on the main network.

Best would be to just create a test network and mine test ether, for experimenting, ie not using your presale ether.

If you want you can periodically check out GitHub.com/d11e9/ethos which should provide the GUI you need, but it's not ready for prime time yet. I'll post to reddit when it is 😀

I'm in the same boat. They weren't kidding when they said it's not safe yet for noobs, were they? I've tried unsuccessfully to sync and import my wallet via CLI and I think I'm just going to quit messing with it until a tool appears that is within my meager powers to operate.
