THE MANCHILD GETS HIS HAMMER BACK.
(Or at least a hammer just like it) I thought Marvel was growing up. I thought the symbolism of them taking Mjolnir away from Odinson, was that a new Era was upon us. And that the age of toxic masculinity was to be left behind. The Female Thor distinguished herself from her Neanderthal counterpart in that she didn't resort to violence at the drop of a hat. Whenever possible, she employed kindness and understanding first and only when that failed and negotiations broke down did she resort to violence, and she used as little of it as possible. Just enough to get the job done. Male Thor should have remained hammer-less to maintain an enduring lesson for men and boys to learn...that power is not a birthright, it's a burden. Male Thor getting a hammer of his own is catering to priviledged fan-boys and their innate desire to conquer things by force, instead of coming up with other solutions. - BLUE CANARY |
