For me, I find it a little unsettling because of how it can warp the mind of young men who do get hurt. They love to recruit, even if they outright deny it, and ultimately, all it hurts is the hurting young men that follow the ideology. My situation is weird, because I almost turned to TRP over a year ago, which I regret deeply, but at the same time, it gives me a better idea of why people turn to something so disgusting. You are right though, most Terpers are literally full of shit. Yes literally.

I'm not sure whether to laugh or cringe when reading their fan fiction.

I usually laugh, but honestly, I think I just gave up on most of them. While they may have been hurt, it's quite obvious that they were never good people to begin with.

I don't know I would agree with that completely. While most of the posters are douches, I feel kind of bad for them because in a way it represents their frustration and desperation in a way.

Kind of how people turn to drugs or something..

I mean, in a way, but I think there was something lurking beneath the surface that TRP tapped into. It sucks, but I guess, they tap into people's most hateful flaws and try and validate those. Racism, sexism, etc. are all pretty common over there after all.

Personally, the cult aspects of the community are what I find most troubling. A lot of lonely, depressed, and vulnerable people are going to fall into the trap to satisfy the needs of narcissists leading the "movement". Their worst feelings and desires are going to be validated, with any suffering and failure being chalked up to not applying the principles hard enough or just not understanding them. They keep going down a slippery slope of increasing frustration and resentment fueled by self-loathing. The TRP might not ever go "mainstream" but it is a subculture that will exist for a while because the kind of vulnerable people it targets are not going to disappear.

Wow, very eloquently stated.

I guess it's the whole 'internet tough guy' thing, mixed with the 'now your going to get it' mentality they exude. They feel that society lied to them, when really it didn't. 4chan is probably just as sexist but they don't claim to be tough guys.

The link below is about an artist who threatened to rape anyone who entered a special tunnel he constructed. Loads of people got pissed because they didn't believe he would, him making the claim was a lie. A large part of it is rage. It's when a load of people claim to be these muscled, alpha gorilla-men. When I hear the phrase 'Amused Mastery' it makes my blood boil because I know exactly what that is, like the phrase 'Shit-eating grin' it's very evocative.

My problem is they are essentially playing 'dread game' on men/ young men. They say 'your future wife is a slut who would rather fuck chad, so you must become just like him to inspire fear in others.' It's a subtle way of ensuring a person will never connect with their partner.

I think the Blue Pill is good for the kind of people on the red pill who are not psychopaths. It's funny.
