You may find two useful things in this image.

There is a Block button. Press it, you won't see them anymore.
There are only 2k subscribers. 1/10th the size of FPH. Hardly 'taken over.' CT has always been small, even on reddit. They just get a lot of publicity. If you are having frequent run-ins with them, you are almost certainly bringing it on yourself.

Has it? I use the block feature to deal with subs I don't want to have appear in my feed and subscribe to those I do.
I keep hearing how Voat is "full of <insert disliked group here>" and yet without actively seeking out those communities I don't see any noticeable amount of hate content. By curating your subscriptions you should see NO hate subs and outside of those I see no more hate speech than I do here on Reddit.

Completely agree; freedom of speech is nice, but spreading child porn is also a something that those people say is "freedom of speech" -or- hate speech.

And if people think that the haters from those subs will simply stay in those respective places, you're wrong!

Yesterday, I posted on /v/Video.

Top Post - Vice video - about Ukrainian girls training like Amazons.

The title was couched as "reporter is shocked when girls training like Amazons are not feminists"

I looked into the comments and saw all these hateful posts, about the sociologists in the video being "fat and ugly" (not saying a word about her position on the sociological aspect of Ukraine/Russia, where I am personally from, and the reality of the male dominated culture that it has due to the many wars the USSR has fought and the statistical ratio of women to men).

I said that "feminism is simply equality between men and women" as a main post (using a dictionary). I also told the guy hating on the sociologist that it's sexist to treat a woman who's a professor as a piece of meat, precisely the issue feminists have with men.

TLDR; Within one day; for engaging Voaters about feminism and stating its basic definition of equality between men and women; I went from 400 CCP to -350 CCP: In ONE DAY Simply for being favorable towards equality between men/women... the place is a cesspool of hatred for the internet now.

well. I wanted voat to succeed too. Unfortunately, while I can do what aggregate sites are meant for, and hide the offending subverses, I feel most of the entire site is still one demographic. Even in general subs it was mostly people that made me feel down for hate speech and aggressive sarcasm. I never said anything or w/e, in fact, I welcomed people coming from CoonTown, no matter how much I may have disliked them personally.

I don't know. I'm just too far removed to enjoy the content when I disagree with everyone there. And that's not a bad thing. I do not want censorship, but I think as humans we secretly crave that echo chamber. Sad to admit, but I think that's true for me.

It's unfortunate that several people have said the same thing that you did and all are usually downvoted and met with derision.

I think the rational adults who want to support voat as a haven of "free speech" are finding out exactly what you've discovered: a site that's quickly been overrun by racists morons and other rejects that reddit is honestly happy to be rid of.

Sadly, voat could have been a reddit alternative but at this rate it appears to be more like an organized version of 4chan.
