That was funnier when it used to say that there's nothing there.

Did Reddit really quarantine that subreddit?! Like....they can't even take a joke. I get banning r/coontown but...wow.

It's the classic "First they came for..." scenario. Nobody wants to defend the racists and pedos but once the "rules" are set down that allow them to ban anyone that doesn't fit in it will be too damn late to do anything but leave.

Yeah but not really. Because being a racist or a pedophile isn't really a pleasant or accepted thing anywhere. It's a bit of a leap to jump from banning people who are legitimately arseholes who damage the community to banning average users who want to look at cat pictures and read askreddit.

Besides that, reddit is it's own business with it's own rules and ethics. The internet might be a place for free speech and a place for anyone to talk about whatever you want, but reddit isn't the whole internet. You can't stand outside of a wal-mart calling passers by racial slurs and showing people pictures of naked children, because you have a right to your stupid offensive opinion, and noone bitches at wal-mart for throwing those fuckers out. So I don't understand why Reddit has to do anything differently. I don't give a fuck if they have free speech, and a right to their opinions, they can make their own place to do that shit, no one is stopping them from using the internet to do so. The fucking melodrama on this site is getting ridiculous, some people need to open their curtains and realise the whole world is a little bigger than the front page of reddit, and that reddit banning racists and paedos from preaching hate on their business front doesn't make them the fucking gestapo.

also the full quote is ''First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.''

So suddenly being a paedophile or a racist is as simple and innocent as a differing opinion or culture, but not only that you're saying that we should speak up for them so that they will be there to speak up for us in return if someone came for me?

Erm, no thanks, I'd rather the paedos and the racists be gone, and I think I'll take my chances without those guys and speak up for myself if it came to it.

Lol! as if you're comparing Reddit banning racists and paedophiles to the way people were treated by Nazi's, and getting upvoted too. It's bizarre that people say shit like that and anyone even listens.

Even if it was too late to do anything but leave, what do you think will happen? the world won't stop spinning, as soon as reddit starts falling out of favour with the mainstream of it's users, they will leave and build another community somewhere else that caters to the mainstreams needs. and you know what? that new community won't want to associate with a bunch of racists and pedophiles either. Reddit isn't the be all and end all of the internet, you don't have to be here, Reddit aren't going to make you stay, they can do what ever the fuck they like, it's up to you to say yes I like this thing, or no you don't, but you don't really have much say in how they practice their business. you can tell wal-mart you don't eat white bread or buy it so they shouldn't sell it, and they will laugh in your face, and carry on as they please because most of their customers don't give a shit or do like white bread.

KIA is going nuts about this quarantine shit... Stock up on popcorn now before the market sky rockets.

I like to think that reddit is like final fantasy tactics advanced, the rules change from day to day and if you break them you'll go to internet jail.

It's not a joke. It's really just virulent racism.

Wait, wasn't the whole joke that nothing could be submitted there so it would say "There's nothing here?"

Now there are two submissions.... did the quarantine come with a change of settings for the sub or something? And doesn't that ironically make it unnecessary to quarantine it since the joke is lost now?

It's especially weird, because on that (joke) subreddit, there is a link to the real subreddit, /r/trueblackfathers

Censorship is a slippery slope. I just don't get why people are so offended by r/coontown. Just don't go there ! It's like you take a stroll through the ghetto and now you're all over the place asking for the ghetto to be illegal because it's full of uneducated poor people.

Meh. Reddit's SJWs at their best I guess.

So we quarantine shit now?

Also that subreddit... I am going to hell for laughing at that

Oh snap!

Please report to your Reddit mandated quarantine by 09:00.
