Diablo® III

That 2.3 hype died awful quick, oh no wait, it just...

went on to damn long like season 3.

Anyone else find the heel dragging over season has well overshadowed 2.3? When a patch takes a bit to introduce due to quality control and wanting it to actually work, I am all game for it. Especially when that patch includes dabbling in abilities, gear and adding new features and additions to game play. But it is not content. It is an extension of already existing torments, a static feature that allocates 3 abilities off of a specific item list and a retuning of the existing greater rift system/removal of realm of trials.

I was super excited about it, last month. After 2 weeks of testing builds and battling the tourists for queue times for ptr, the shiny exterior was gone and the rusty pre-existing primer that is D3 was still there with all of it's untouched issues concerning classes, abilities and well, something more to actually do, I could still be mad excited if we had seen notification stating S3 was drawing to a close before summer's end and 2.3 would be rolling out.

It never came. Ugh. I do test when ptr is up, not to burn out on new content but to actually test what is coming and have an idea what we are in for. So I don't end up like 90% of the forums posters that start threads the day of patch release asking "what are this?!" This is not new content and I did not treat it like it was. I was excited for the torment and cube changes. But I think I am quickly just starting to not care as I am realising S3 will be around at least through August and 2.3 will not hit with S4 until the following week.

TL;DR Something is off, the excitement over a game changing patch should not wash off this quickly.

One thing is obvious, season 3 is too long. Ptr could've started a month earlier if Devs were aiming for a 3 month season but considering the amount of bugs we've had this PTR it'll now extend the already lengthy season more.

:(

To be fair to them they double talk like pros and avoid committing to any actual release info. They had already said S3 would be in the 4 month realm. I am actually not interested in the seasons as much as I understand the seasons will be intimately tied to patch releases and gear changes.

This seasons WILL exceed the 4 month mark. That will put 2.3 off until early September at the soonest.

I don't want them to release 2.3 before it's ready so I'm ok with that wait.

However I feel that they should have ended Season 3 last week, let us get the seasonal items on our NS and play around and have fun while we wait for 2.3 and S4 to drop.

I heard that said so many times, and we waited... and then there's more problems, more changes, more patches people say will finally fix the game, and more waiting.

And repeat.

Do you really want game breaking bugs allowing GR100's and easy mode paragon farming to be live...?

We've had numerous bugs anyway. And even if it's player ingenuity (finding a way for a useless item to interact with a skill and make it one of the better options) it gets nerfed anyway. I like D3, don't get me wrong, but it's been a few years of nonstop "fixes," "changes," and "improvements." Waiting longer "so that it's right" is not going to be much different than how things have already been for years with this game.

Since when have they had a ptr not last more then 6weeks?
Also biggest issue in D3 has not even been delt with, that being lack of stash space/characters

For the rest of the things that didn't get addressed, that's what the next patch is supposed to do. And if that doesn't happen by then like it was hinted, then the entire community has every right to complain more than ever.

We still have game breaking bugs. This is not about them having the time to flesh out a patch. It is not content. It is the usual, we cant be bothered to put effort into the combat system and AI so we are simply power creeping every corner from gear to mob output. This is about being excited about a patch that when the dust settled and feet were dragged, realising it really is not worth being that excited for and how the game got to this point.

Saying crap like you would rather it take longer to come out better is cliché and tosh. It is like the WoW fanbois that posted during Cata that the next expac would be better and just hold on. The next expac came and it was not better. Then MoP fanbois said wait for the next expac , it would be better, it was not. just like WoD fanbois think the next cash grab will better, it wont. And so on. You can only make the 'time for quality' excuse so many times before you call it for what it is, udder bull poop.

So they're maybe 2-3 weeks behind what would be a "normal" cycle and it's !@#$ hitting the fan already? I mean wow....

What game breaking bugs do we have in the game right now?

I've already agreed that S3 should end so we can at least farm up the seasonal items for those of us who didn't do S3 and have fun with those while we wait for 2.3.

This game, like any other game can never really be "fixed."
When you fix one bug, there's a possibility that another bug, small or big, will appear.
That's why little bugs aren't usually focused on because of the chance that a bigger bug might be created.

You all are impatient-ingrate-mindless-piece of work... If you dont know what PTR and schedules are then thumbs down this post all you want.

I'm still having fun with this season. When I'm bored I do something else. It's done when it's done.

I had to come back and post on this.

I laugh everytime I hear stuff like this about D3 because 9 times out of 10 it is followed by or supported by some D2 fanboy, which is amusing because there was literally no endgame to D2 at all and nothing besides just playing the storyline over and over jumping in at different acts. There was also nothing but broken "one build to rule them all(sometimes 2)" for all classes back then as well, along with the numerous other problems it had.

I really have no idea what D3 players actually want from this game because everytime you get something you need something else.

I'm still excited about it and am looking forward to its release. I don't play the PTR because I'd rather the content be fresh when it is released on live. Still a way away though, I'm fairly certain that Blizzard said they would give a 2 week notice before the end of the season which I haven't seen yet.

Amen, Say it loud and pass the bullets, er..arrows, toads, whatever!

The lack of stash space is so bad I'm almost afraid to log in and run anything. It always comes down to which legendary must I melt down this time.

They could make all the stashes for an account display in common view (didn't they do this for WOW a few years back). That would save time (no more switching between toons to see who has what in their stash). It seems to me that's the least they could do...

I mean really Bliz, I know you're digging a grave for this game. Until the hole is deep enough to finally put it to rest could we get some relief on the stash space issue, PULEEEZE!?!!!

They'd have to wipe NS leaderboards if this happened, u realize that right? But I wouldn't mind so long they lock in LB positions which they won't do so I doubt we'll get to play with S3 stuff.

My beef is not with PTR taking long it's season length which then forces everything else to take longer. Four months is too long. 3 months is plenty of time for seasons.

I totally agree and i think S3 should have ended by now, even if 2.3 isn't ready for release. I feel like they are so caught up in their "how it should be" schedule that they wont end the season until the patch is near finished stage. The seasons still should end on time to allow non seasons players a chance to play with previous seasons loot.
