Engineers continue to investigate a Service Management issue that is impacting the ability to Create and Modify existing services across multiple regions. The following services have confirmed impact to control-plane operations: Virtual Machines, SQL Databases, Storage, Stream Analytics, HDInsight, VSO Hosted Build and Load Test. Existing service runtime operations are not impacted by this incident. Customers may experience failures or latency when attempting control-plane operations via PowerShell, the Azure Preview Portal (portal.azure.com) and the Azure Management Portal (manage.windowsazure.com). Engineers have identified the underlying root cause and are evaluating options for recovery. An update will be provided in 60 minutes, or as events warrant.

Virtual Machines and Storage customers in West Europe did not experience and interruption to run time. An investigation continues into service management functions for these and other services. A detailed listing of impacted services will follow shortly.
From approximately 19:54 to 20:15 UTC on 3rd Aug, 2015, customers using Azure SQL DB V12 in West Europe experienced control plane unavailability. V12 Server and database read, create, drop, rename, and change edition & performance tier operations would have failed during this time. Data plane operations – connecting to and using existing databases – were unaffected. Engineers have validated that their repair steps have re-enabled all impacted control plane functionality. This incident is now closed.
From approximately 29 July, 2015 17:25 to 19:40 UTC a subset of customers using App Service \ Web App in West US may have experienced high latency or 500 errors when accessing their Web Apps. This incident is now mitigated.
From 25 Jul 2015 00:00 to 10:50 UTC a small number of customers using Automation in multiple regions may have encountered an error message related to runbook parameters. This was caused by a recent software update. Engineers have implemented and verified a fix for this, and this incident has now been mitigated.
Between approximately 18:30 pm and 20:35 on 24 Jul 2015 UTC a subset of customers using Storage and Virtual Machines in East US 2 may have encountered errors when attempting to access services or performing service management functions due to an issue with networking infrastructure in the region. We have validated that services are now healthy.
Between approximately 18:30 pm and 20:45 on 24 Jul 2015 UTC a subset of customers using Application Insights, HDInsights, Operational Insights, Visual Studio Online, Managed Cache, Azure Resource Manager, Stream Analytics may have encountered errors when attempting to access their services due to a Storage issue in East US 2. Engineers from these impacted service teams have validate services have recovered. This issue is now mitigated.
From approximately 22:53 UTC on 22nd Jul, 2015, to 00:02 UTC on 23rd Jul, 2015, customers using Azure SQL DB V12 in East US experienced control plane unavailability. V12 Server and database read, create, drop, rename, and change edition & performance tier operations would have failed during this time. Data plane operations – connecting to and using existing databases – were unaffected. Engineers have validated that control plane services have recovered. This incident is now closed.
From approximately 19:43 to 21:42 UTC on 22nd Jul, 2015, customers using Azure SQL DB V12 in East Asia experienced control plane unavailability. V12 Server and database create, drop, rename, and change edition & performance tier operations would have failed during this time. Data plane operations – connecting to and using existing databases – were unaffected. Engineers have validated that control plane services have recovered. This incident is now closed.
From approximately 22 July, 2015 01:58 to 03:08 UTC a subset of customers using Key Vault SQL Database, App Service \ Web App, Data Factory, Strorage and Azure Search in Australia East, East US, North Central US and West US may have been impacted by the Network issue we were experiencing. This issue is now mitigated and service is now restored to normal.
From approximately 22 July, 2015 01:58 to 03:08 UTC a subset of customers using Network Infrastructure in North Central US, Australia East, East US and West US may have experienced DNS resolution failures to our services. Engineering teams have identified the root cause and deployed a mitigation. We have confirmed that normal service availability has been restored to all regions. This issue is now mitigated
