God damn do I hate the term “mansplaining”. It’s almost exclusively used/abused as a shutdown tactic when losing an argument. I can’t tell you how many feminists I’ve seen call being called on bullshit “mansplaining”.

Calling it mansplaining when you’re wrong is no better than a guy asking a woman “are you on your period?” when he starts to lose the argument.

Mansplaining about mansplaining. Neat-o.

Mansplaining is when a man thinks he knows more about women’s experiences than women do. Telling a man that he should stop acting like an expert on other people’s experiences is a completely reasonable way to win an argument. Asking a woman if she’s on her period is nowhere near the same thing as telling a man that he’s mansplaining.

“I hate it when women try to tell me they know more about their lives than I do, don’t they know that men know EVERYTHING? It is a well known scientific fact thay puny lady brains cannot comprehend what is ACTUALLY happening to them in their daily lives so we men are doing them a service by explaining their experiences to them. And all they do is complain. Women are mean.”
