Hey guys, I'm completely aware of the posts about DawkosGames and the /u/JohnLentle account.

There are some people who believe that Dawko has been using this account as an alt for a long time to increase his viewcount and give his main YouTube channel better publicity.

Unfortunately, this actually does seem to be the case. I have recently witnessed something that... heavily increases the chances that Dawko is using the John account.

Alright, so basically, here's the evidence. Yesterday, I found this post made by the John account. It was active and viewable to mods, but it was removed by ToyChica. A while ago, obviously. It wasn't deleted. However now, it is deleted. That means over the last 12 hours, the person holding the John account deleted the post. Mods can NOT delete posts, they can only remove them from the sub's view.

TL;DR: After Dawko posted about the situation on Twitter, the person holding the John account also deleted this post.

However, please do NOT start any flamewars, brigades, anything. Keep everything calm and collected. If you want to look into the matter, then feel free to do so. The situation is POTENTIALLY controversial, mainly because of the trust Scott has clearly put into Dawko, but this is really the only important part of the debate. Everything else is pretty pointless to talk about.

So, I repeat, do not panic or complain about what's happening. Talk between yourselves, PM each other. Feel free to modmail us if you find more "evidence" or if you feel inclined to say something, but please stop making posts about it because right now, it's not a big deal and it doesn't need to be.

Edit: I have sent a request to the Reddit admins to see if they can check the accounts. Right now, what Dawko would be doing is not breaking Reddit rules however, so there's a chance that I won't get a response.

Why did Dawko need to do all this? I mean, ever since the St. Jude's stream, he's gotten plently of recognition from the FNAF community, and even Scott himself. So what was his motive for using the alt account?

The account is older than his FNAF videos. I think he had a very small amount of views back then.

What I'm confused about, is why (if Dawko is John) would he use the John account to share the tweets? Why not just use the normal account? Strange

probably because some were clickbaity. The one where john said "Dawko hints that the box can be opened, just with the right code." is a way to get people clicking, hyped, while at the same time a way for Dawko to say "that was just my opinion. that user misinterpreted"

It's just a simple and "clean" way to self promote. Promoting yourself is pretty frowned upon on Reddit, I know a ton of subs will actually ban you if you submit links to an external website that you run, so having a sly alt who can submit links makes you able to link to your stuff without anyone getting grumpy.

So I can understand that, honestly. I don't like it, but I can see why someone would do it. Now, the self-praise thing... that just kinda makes me shake my head.

Yeah it did, when Dawko could have just used the /u/dawkosgames account. I don't know why he would do it, but evidence suggests that it is him. I really have no clue

Sadly, it's a step beyond simple promotion.

Look, let's call a spade a spade. For the Twitch/YouTube community, FNAF is a godsend. I have no doubts Dawko loves the game, but just like MatPat, Smike, and hundreds of other gaming personalities, it's often treated more as a means to an end than anything. They wouldn't be doing what they do on Twitch and YouTube if it weren't a near guarantee to drive tons of traffic.

EDIT: And keep in mind, I do videos and streaming too, I know EXACTLY how it goes and I happily make those videos and do those streams. I've loved FNAF from the get go but there's no pretending like a big all-day FNAF stream or whatever has nothing to do with how popular the game is.

Ask yourself this: if he really was just trying to discuss ideas, why would he even bother linking to his twitter at all? Wouldn't it make more sense to just post the idea as a self text? It would... unless the point was to drive traffic toward the tweet, not talk about the idea itself.

I mean, I don't know Dawko. He seems like a young kid (college age?) and I can't say I know what it's like to be a mini celebrity online at that age. But I can add up the train of thought and it's not hard to follow. Make a tweet like "the box can be opened," knowing that it's just BS but that it's going to attract a ton of attention because people think you have the answers. Have a sockpuppet account link to it, driving tons of traffic to the tweet and getting it shared everywhere (and dodging the obvious self-promotion issue). Then once that's panned out, simply go "hey guys I was just guessing, lol settle down," and bang. Now you got all the promotion, capitalized on the controversy of your BS tweet, and your hands are clean.

It's obvious that JohnLentle is Dawko. I've found one of his posts that he deleted before this whole controversy.

As you can see, JohnLentle was the submitter of this. This post was made 9 months ago.

Now look at dawko's profile, it says that /u/dawkosgames was created 7 months ago.

In the fantasy life review reddit post, there are multiple deleted comments. They are to the owner of the channel, Dawko. They couldn't have been to dawkosgames, seeing as that account wasn't made yet. It had to have been JohnLentle.

So this means that the account /u/JohnLentle has to belong to dawko.

He hasn't just removed the "Dawko is amazing <3" post, he has also deleted 2 unrelated videos. A Splatoon one and a Sonic review. This just doesn't make sense. Why would a fan remove those specific videos?

I feel like Dawko was gonna remove all posts but stopped after those 2. Because he felt like people were gonna know if all the posts were deleted.

This is really sad.. I love Dawko's content for FNAF and if he's going down this road it's low as hell. I've lost a bit of respect for him now seeing him make an alt just to spam his videos on his channel in comments sections on Reddit. He's the only tolerable FNAF Youtuber I've ever seen as well.

Also telling people NOT to do something will just cause them to do that thing..

10 months ago (John's account age), Dawko was getting views in the 80-100 range, and even less on Twitch. He used to play Pokemon, and John was only ever talking about FNAF, from the beginning of Dawko's FNAF era of the channel

Even if you do get a response from the reddit admins, I doubt they'll uncover anything that further helps connect the two accounts. Both the John Lentle account and /u/dawkogames don't have registered emails. The more I think about it, the more I realize how sneaky Dawko's been about this.

first of all, I don't know who Dawko is. I watched one of his FNAF4 vids before Mark got his out. He seemed 'aight. So I'm not sticking up for him. But this could legit just be some crazy-ass fan. Reading the post in question really just seems like a fan spewing love for Dawko over his donations from using FNaF. I've seen people do the same with Scott, not a stretch to think someone would over their favorite youtuber. Also, hounding someones ass over something you only have "strong suspicion" over is seriously fucked up. I've been there, and it's fucking maddening. Just chill the fuck out until we completely figure out if it's him or not.

And even if it WAS him promoting himself? Well, who cares? Either ignore him or you just found a new youtuber. It's a business. If it was him, he's trying to get more customers by advertising to a niche audience.

He's donated shit ton of money apparently, more than most people here have ever done (myself included) and now everyone wants to hang him because of some supposed "controversial" BS.

Also, he deleted his account? yeah, maybe the harassment and other BS he (be it Dawko or another person) got from this BS. Or felt bad for fucking Dawko over.

Either way, I just don't care. I come here for FNaF news to see if anyone found out anything new, or news about the movie, etc. Not this Bullshit.

If this John guy really was Dawko, I feel kind-of cheated. Dawko seemed like a great guy; he raised charities, posted FNaF updates, and raised hype.
