I let security patches come through. If one breaks something, I want to remove it and block it. If there's an update to a feature that I want to go without, then I want to block it. It should be my choice. MY computer, MY operating system, MY choice.

How are you subscribed to this subreddit and think like this? It's as if you've never heard of the FSF or literally any of the Unix philosophy. Yes, I recognize Windows isn't Unix, but it's literally doing the polar opposite of what software ought to do, by the Unix philosophy.

You're no better than people saying the NSA is fine because opposing it is being paranoid and you like the feeling of security it grants you to know literally everybody is being spied on.

Knowing Microsoft cooperates fully with the NSA, and reading their privacy statement, if the NSA wants to see what's on your computer, they can. They can browse every single thing, and they get easy access through MS themselves. Sure, they could and would get into Linux or anything else as well most likely, but not with a handshake and smile from Linus Torvalds.
