I know you are just being sarcastic but SO many people want this DX12 patch like its the best thing in the world, they are a bit crazy.

I hope you guys don't get me wrong, I love the game and i love CDP RED.

Do not press them to remake Witcher 3's RED Engine version into a low-level DX12 API for 5% of operating system, it will not be worth it since the game is already optimized pretty well CPU-wise and there are bigger issues. Please.

DirectX12 would only serve for optimizing CPU usage for multiple threads and they already did excellent job with it (I can run Witcher 3 with GTX 970 and Phenom II x6 @3.5GHz on Ultra, its a SHITTY OLD CPU yet it runs very well above 50 fps in FullHD), therefore spending hundreds of work hours to remake Witcher 3 for DX12 low level API would be a waste of time and human resources.

There are higher priority issues.

Some guys are delusional. Demanding DirectX 12 for a game that is already out and buggy enough... They have to fix the game and make it into fully playable experience first, then make content, then fix the new content, then make more content, then fix it too, then REDKit will come out, then they will have to support and fix REDKit, and then maybe a third expansion comes out in 2017, so they will have to fix the bugs in it at some point, and then Cyberpunk 2077 will come out.

God dude you are on literally every thread bragging about your shitty CPU running this game on ultra.

No. One. Cares.

Did....did you miss the /s?

Nice humble bragging

for a game that is already out and buggy enough

Buggy enough? Sure there may be a bug here or there, but game-breaking bugs like not being able to continue a quest or something happen very rarely, once on every few dozen people playing the game.

They have to fix the game and make it playable first

As long as you meet the system requirements, it is playable, what are you talking about?

then make content, then fix the new content, then make more content, then fix it too

Every game (or at least most games) that has new content will have bugs and will need optimisation, what makes Witcher 3 so special?

The game is playable

What I find curious is that your CPU has nothing to do with performance, as it's not the bottleneck. Your 970 is. I ran with a single 970 for quite a few months before I moved to SLI 970s, and there was just no way (in that time) for me to run at Ultra with acceptable framerates - namely, the average was good but it dropped to unacceptable in places like Novigrad or Ard Skellige.

With SLI 970s it's definitely possible to run max settings and never dip below 60, but what you claim has never been seen by any other player.

The thing about DX12 is that yes, it will improve performance, but it'll mostly do so when it comes to draw cells and their reliance on the CPU. In a pure draw cell related situation, we're looking at something like a 3000% improvement. Those situations don't exist. Even if CDPR implemented support this very day, we'd be lucky to see even a 30% improvement in frames, as a lot of the graphical fidelity comes from textures.

I honestly feel you misunderstand the wondrous benefits that DX12 offer, and hope you check out some documentation before mentioning it again.

Edit: This is all at 1080p with a 144Hz monitor

I've not said I never dip below 60, most of the time it's 50+fps and sometimes more than 60fps if scenery is not demanding.

And every now and then I got 35-40fps in crowded places.

Also, I know what DX12 has to offer and rewritting entire game for it would not improve framerates itself but rather reduce CPU bottleneck situations as you mentioned. Those situations are rare in Witcher 3 DX11 as it is.

Nothing says "needs to get out more" like writing a book in a comment about subtle differences across gfx driver versions in a single game.

If Asperger's... I apologize, carry on

If not... Get checked for it. Or maybe you're jacked up on 40mg of Adderall or something and are hyperfocusing

Fuck off from people who suffer Asperger's you douche bag.

You're not the first one today, which is showing what a bunch of pricks /r/witcher redditors are.
