What the Wisp weapon from Zone of the Enders does:

Wisp is an offensive sub-weapon that appears in The 2nd Runner. It is obtained by the player from Ardjet after deleting and destroying the Viola A.I.. The Wisp allows the user to grab objects from a distance, throwing out three small bits which latch on to a target and return it to the user.

Also has the same blue and yellow coloring.

Edit: Here is a video of the Wisp in action starting at 50 seconds (Stupid coincidence: He shoots it from his left hand, just like Big Boss :D)

I love that Kojima and friends haven't forgotten ZoE. Hell, I'd kill for a successor after this whole Konami thing shakes out.

But for now I'll settle with the Vector Cannon in Big Boss' arm. It'd be like 4's Tanegashima on steroids.

Yes, maybe Rom might be the way to play I heard their were problems with the HD remaster.

This is an underrated Gem and deserves a new one. Let's hope it is the next game to get a sequel. ZoE2 is the more polished of the games. Also the blend of 3d models and cell shaded effects was awesome, I don't know of another game that is blended the same way. Last thing I am gonna say is Zero-Shift

I think it might be a tranq arm. Kind of silly with CQC and all, but it's blue like the rifle barrel in the alternate gameplay styles video.

Not sure how they'd pull it off, but anything is possible. We already have an electronic/zap arm move that's KO's enemies, but that puts them in a "---" condition as opposed to the tranq'd "zzz" state.

It's the same color blue as the light shining off Solid snake in mission 16 of mgs4, this confirms my theory that big boss in mgsv is just a cybernetic solid snake clone sent from the future to prevent world war 5 aswell as defeat the empire by tossing the ring into the fires of mount doom.

i think its freezing weapon. big boss will use to freeze the enemy in his place for about 5-6 seconds, it'll be upgraded to 10 seconds with R&D team

Is it just me, or are all these kooky colored prosthetics annoying anyone else? Boss is spending most of his time operating in enemy AOs, so why is the world's greatest soldier rocking vibrant prosthetics? I can understand the need to distinguish between different models, but couldn't the physical model just be modified based on the function? Maybe I'm being too sensitive, and I know that MGS isn't always know for its' realism, but it bugs me. None of this applies to the standard prosthetic based on Zadornov's hand; I like how the dark crimson represents the Boss' inner demon.

Fair enough, but separating a Metal Gear from the MGS series is impossible. It's easy enough to justify A Metal Gear, but the vibrant colors completely invalidate the use of camouflage. It just sort of ruins the gameplay immersion for me, whether you agree with me or not is none of my business. That said, the advanced prosthesis BB uses probably defies technological reality more than a Metal Gear.

I just found it a little bit too cheesy. If it had been a rocket launcher I would have probably been fine with it, but the fact that it was the arm just really made me cringe.
