Building trust

U.S. and European partners U.S. Army Europe multinational exercises ensure interoperability with our current, and potential, coalition partners, and for working out possible mission command issues including computer network and communications interoperability.

Because of our location in Europe, we are able to interact with large numbers of foreign militaries and routinely integrate coalition building and maintenance activities.

These exercises are a smart investment. They not only build allies, they increase our military proficiency, and they create trust and understanding between the Soldiers and leaders of Europe and the U.S.

Anakonda is a Polish Operational Command led, USAREUR supported exercise designed to conduct multinational training with NATO and partner nations. USAREUR participation in this exercise directly supports building theater security cooperation objectives. Anakonda is a command post exercise/computer training exercise conducted in Ustka and Drawsko Pomorski Training Area, Poland.

Austere Challenge

Austere Challenge is an annual joint exercise that enables USAREUR and other EUCOM service components to plan and execute full spectrum operations as a Joint Task Force Headquarters responding to a crisis affecting the EUCOM area of responsibility.

Combined Resolve

Combined Resolve is a multi-national exercise at Hohenfels and Grafenwoehr training areas in Germany. The exercise focuses on maintaining and enhancing interoperability during unified land operations in a decisive action training environment.

EUCOM

Cooperative Resolve

Cooperative Resolve is a USAREUR-conducted battalion-level CPX/CAX supported with Joint Conflict and Tactical Simulation from the Joint Multinational Training Command. Cooperative Resolve is conducted in Ankara, Turkey, with focus on training participants in a battalion staff level coalition security, stability, transition and reconstruction operation.

EUCOM

Flexible Leader

Flexible Leader is a USAREUR supported exercise designed to train EUCOM staff and component staffs in the planning and conduct of a coordinated U.S. response to requests for foreign humanitarian assistance contingencies within the EUCOM area of responsibility.

Immediate Response

Immediate Response 15 is a USAREUR-led, multilateral, regional theater security cooperation exercise with Slovenian Armed Forces, Croatian Armed Forces and additional allied and partner nations. IR15 consists of a division level distributed Computer Assisted/Command Post Exercise, company level Situational Training Exercise and a battalion level Field Training Exercise.

Exercise Noble Partner is a bilateral effort focused on enhancing U.S. and Georgian NATO Response Force interoperability in the context of military-to-military relationships. The exercise focuses on Unified Land Operations and is based on NATO standard operating procedures.

Saber Guardian/Rapid Trident is a USAREUR-led, in the spirit of partnership for peace, exercise designed to promote regional stability and security, strengthen partnership capacity, and foster trust while improving interoperability between USAREUR, the land forces of Ukraine, and other PfP and NATO partner nations.
