Everyone but the most ignorant idiots now realize that GG is full of minorities and women. Claiming the contrary is 'erasure', another buzzword SJWs like to use. Why should white men receive all the credit for GG?

The KIA survey is admittedly a bit old, but around 9% women and 24% non-white.

We should really do another one, especially with the upcoming 1 year mark. See if that has changed or not.

[–]feared_rear_admiral 9ポイント10ポイント  (2子コメント)

Especially considering how big KiA has gotten in the meantime. It actually doubled in this year in subscribers.

Using subs to measure our dick size doesn't mean much. Somebody can sub and then never log in again, that doesn't really make them a supporter.

According to traffic stats, we got a major boost last month (probably because of the FPH thing) but appear to be stagnant in terms of activity growth. We get spikes when there's some sort of controversy but that seems to be all.

[–]dennis_de_la_gras 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

Yeah now these people just settle for calling them 'mascots' or 'victims of Stockholm Syndrome'.

Which is a believable gamers distribution.

Not really. Though it probably fits fairly well with reddit's demographics.

[–]iadagracadefinitely not a black guy

True but Instead they just call all the people who use the tag uncle tom and racist.

Holy shit, what? GamerGate is full of white guys. There is just a representation of women and minorities that reasonably reflects the demographics of gamers in general.

Let's not go telling people they're trying to erase the truth because they say that GG isn't "full of minorities and women."

We have way more variation than the other side. You can pretty much see this when ever there is a gathering of either of us.

Surveys of each group tell a different story.

Anyone can pretend to be a black trans disabled otherkin.on the Internet.

It's when you show up at a bar and then Arthur Chu calls a bomb threat on you and you're all gathered on the street outside that you can see exactly how many minorities you have.

Yes, but criticizing only evidence that works against you and highlighting only evidence that works for you is how you create an echo chamber.

Those photos could have been taken specifically because the majority of the girls/minorities were gathered in roughly the same space, making it look like a much more diverse crowd, and pictures showing only guys are unlikely to make the rounds on GG. On the other hand, pictures showing diversity in aGG aren't likely to make it to GG spaces, we're probably only going to see the ones that were taken of only men.

Let's try to exercise some intellectual honesty here.

Yes, well, I can go to a local LAN tourney and not see a single white guy. Then a white guy walks in and he's the token majority and it's a very funny joke etc.

Confirmation bias aside, I'm not even sure it's even possible to take a picture as white as that one of XOXOFest's panel audience outside of a KKK rally, even if you're actively trying.

Bullshit. Sources please.

Holy shit, you can google it in less time than it takes to ask for a source. Just put the smallest amount of effort in before you demand things from others.

It was you with the erroneous claim, not Google. Don't let the door hit you on your way back to Ghazi.

Can you source your claim that my claim is erroneous? Because I just did some research and seems like it's not.

Yeah? I just did 2 researches and found you are full of shit.

That's what I thought. It's always the people who hold beliefs without having done any research that are the people that demand other people provide sources without looking for them themselves, then come up with rationalization as to why they won't accept that source when provided.

Every. single. time.

[–]AntonioOfVeniceRuns /r/polygon \ Karma King of late April 2015 1

Holy shit, what? GamerGate is full of white guys.

Of course. What I meant was 'consists exclusively of white guys'. Also, there is nothing wrong with being almost exclusively white, like SJWs are. I do not think SJWs have a problem with 'diversity', I think they have a problem with insanity.

Well you gotta be more clear on this stuff; it's highly relevant, and we don't want people spouting false information.

Also, /r/GamerGhazi is 25% female-identifying. That's more than us.

It doesn't show up as such without custom subreddit themes being enabled, apparently.

I drank 3 Monster BFCs in one hour playing Demon's Souls at 4 AM does that count as something notable?

I assume thats a joke? Or do you have a ridiculously high caffeine tolerance and a gallon sized bladder?

100% serious.... I have sleeping problems making it very hard for me to sleep and I wake up very easily.... so I drank tons of caffeine beverages in high school (I drink 2 normal size energy drinks max a day now )... bathroom breaks are done between worlds

Jesus, my heart would explore. I used to drink about an energy drink (16oz) a day, but stopped because of high blood pressure, and needed to shed some weight. Those things are carb city. The ones with sugar, anyway. Now I just drink coffee occasionally.

That is one reason I cut off my intake a lot... that and I was getting migraines more than when I was younger and I figured cutting back would be a good idea ... that and after I did the three BFCs I felt like I might die and when I told people in school about it I got a lot of "what the fuck is wrong with you" comments over people worried I was going to die from it....so I figured 3 BFCs was too much.... I weened it down to 3 monsters a day and a pot of coffee a day after a couple weeks... by the time the school year was over I had it reduced to 2 monsters and a 12 ounce container of coffee to last me through the entire day.... I can go without caffeine for days now though _^

Ah, its good you cut back gradually. People actually experience withdrawals from stopping cold turkey, especially if its a high amount your body is used to on a regular basis. Im sure you probably experienced it a few times if you didn't have caffeine within a certain amount of time. Not hardcore WD like from alcohol, or opiates, but definitely unpleasant.

More or less, everyone was absorbed into the GG hashtag. No one is claiming we're all white dudes now so no one is using NYS.

Not so. You're not seeing it because that part of the narrative moved to the convention circuit. Check the panels at the fan cons; every last one that talks about "harassment" might as well name-check GG (and some, like those at CONvergence in Minnesota, did).

The con scene is where the SocJus cultists are strong. They run this shit, and they are behind the deliberate social engineering of SocJus memes into norms of behavior. Online is lost outside of their hugboxes, so they've pulled back to the cons and are going to use that powerbase to cull us from the scene until no one dissents- the Honey Badger episode is just a very blunt example.

The need for the hashtag is at that level; pro-GG and neutrals need to wear that NYS tag loud and proud. Otherwise, neutering them in the con scene just won't happen.

Because socjus can only survive in hugboxes? Online, people find ways to talk back to their betters; in a conference the majority must sit quietly and wait until permitted to ask questions.

And can define "harassment", "consent", etc. to screw you- and will. These Codes of Conduct and other BS are there to provide plausible excuses to cull those that threaten the warren- and that means they will screech like 70s-era Body Snatchers before they throw you out, ban you for life, and blacklist you from the scene.

Time to (a) learn how running good cons works so (b) we can make our own cons and do it better than those shitweasals (who, without fail, kill all they control).

[–]Inuma 1

You're not seeing it because that part of the narrative moved to the convention circuit.

And? No one goes to a convention to be lectured and every time someone does such things, it doesn't garner a lot of support.

They run this shit, and they are behind the deliberate social engineering of SocJus memes into norms of behavior.

They have money for space. That's different from "running it."

The need for the hashtag is at that level; pro-GG and neutrals need to wear that NYS tag loud and proud.

To what exactly? Support diversity that's already understood in the gaming community? When it's needed, it'll be there. But for now, people don't have the bat signal being used.

Otherwise, neutering them in the con scene just won't happen.

I don't think you understand...

The con scene is going to be moving away from the bigger cons so they pull in less audiences. That's why people are having meetups and those may become the new cons with more focus on games and less focus on social bullshit.

No, it's even worse at the smaller cons. The one I mentioned above is a small con--6.2K this year--but they are the backbone of the con circuit and therefore one of the two pillars of the fan scene. These smaller cons (which includes cons specifically for people who run cons, such as JOFcon here in the Minneapolis area) are where ideas you see at the big cons like SDCC and PAX get tested and tweaked until--via the SocJus IRL network of fellow travelers--the cultists working for the big cons pick it up and sell it to their bosses as some way to get good PR while reducing liability.

The new cons have to deal with the smaller cons because it is this group that will get replaced first, and because the stakes in these small cons are so small the fighting is vicious and cowardly in its nature. (Yes, just like academia or office politics.) The tactics to deal with this have to change to match the circumstances; where I am, it is viable to go the legal route due to there being a statute at the state level that makes defamation a criminal offense, and the cons often have a cop around due to their choice of venue so enforcement is not a problem. It's going to be different where you, and others are.

In the Radio Show Wu did two weeks back she straight up said- "GamerGate is group of scared men". So noones claiming were all white anymore. But the whole were all men thing lingers.

the "gamergate is all white guys" narrative fell apart pretty hard, especially when it was conclusively proven that antigamers are all white guys

#notyourshield isn't often seen anymore because it isn't needed

#NotYourShield is still there for sure. But it's a reaction to aGG's dumb GG=CIS-White-male narrative, which is getting less common now. Thus, if nobody does that mistake, then it doesn't get mentioned much.

I figured that was the case. But it annoys the ever living crap out of me that when good points are brought up they are ignored because of the color of a guy's skin. Say if tomorrow I leak emails from Alexander, Hernandez, Totilo, Grayson, Biddle whoever straight up admitting to unethical practices would my leak be accepted because I'm a black guy? Why the hell should that matter? It seems with antis ones race or belief is all that matter.

key thing that bugs me about all this, the thing i fear the most is getting commission and gamdev work just because of my skin color instead of my skill.

formating issue with hashtags on reddit/markdown as it uses # for headers hence the giant text.

put \ before # to fix the formatting

you have to \ your # or else that happens.

It's a shame the tag isn't used more, the hit pieces are still coming and lots of them still use the "it's just white men" argument to try and dismiss GG.

notyourshield did its job, that narrative is pretty much dead, anti tried claiming that all our evident diversity is the result of sock puppet accounts, but once we started putting out pictures from GG meetups...well even they can't argue with that.

to be honest, ALL hashtags and any other internet phenomena is bound to go away.

ie, putting up an "x" profile picture to support some cause, one day youll just have to take it down and use your normal pic and resume life. of course, it doesnt mean you dont support that cause anymore, its just that there are either more recent issues youd like to participate in or you really just have to set it back to normal anyway.

most hastags don't last very long unfortunately. #notyourshield pretty much merged with GGers since we were a temporary response to the "white-cis-male-christian/atheist-ablest-European/American-etc" narrative to show we are actually diverse and we don't want sjw scums to speak for us.

Everyone wants the highest amount of exposure, so they use the main GG hubs or the main hashtag. Look at all our spinoff subreddits. They're wastelands.

aGG have convinced themselves that allowing minorities to decide for themselves who they do or do not want to defend is somehow hypocritical.

Essentially they tell minorities to shut up and let white people decide who has their best interests in mind.
