I love this idea, quarantining the many racist and xenophobic comments to one thread! Now I know what to ignore!

Don't forget about all the pro-immigration feelgood stories, Nazi-comparisons and racist comments. I'm just happy both sides are quarantined here now and we no longer have to go through the exact same arguments in every thread.

This whole immigration discussion is getting way out of hand and I think both sides are far better off just voting for what they believe in when the comes than having to defend/argue their opinion in every thread.

I honestly haven't seen any pro-immigration feelgood stories, so that would be a first.

The whole anti-Merkel circlejerk when she talked to that immigrant girl? Or just look at this thread which is already filling up with Nazi remarks, accusations of racism, ...

I honestly just want both sides stuck in here. This megathread should make /r/europe a more peaceful, calm and rational place.

I've found myself visiting this sub less and less. I would be okay, if there was discussion but there is none, it's mostly a shouting match in which one side usually overwhelms the opposition. /r/europe is becoming more and more like the big default subreddits. Recently we had a thread about SD organizing a LGBT parade, there wasn't a discussion whether exploiting that particular community, when you hatethem only a little bit less, to push your agenda is okay or not, the thread turned into "DAE hate muslims?"

Don't make me laugh. In this sub, there was no anti-Merkel circle jerk. The majority opinion was that she dealt with it responsibly by not making exceptions for single individuals and speaking realistically.

The anti-immigration side (as many points as they might have) are many times looking to put themselves in the position of the victim, claiming censorship when there is none, and saying people refuse to argue with you when all we do in this sub is just that. Stop fucking pretending you are being persecuted, and maybe we'll take you more seriously.

To everyone who doesn't agree with the mods or this guy. Good luck.

Exactly. The backlash already shows this was the absolute right step. In Germany we have this beautiful saying "Getroffene Hunde bellen" which roughly translates to "Struck dogs bark".

Edit: As relevant as it gets. Pure comedy gold right there.

Yeah in English we have an expression: Actions provoke reactions.
Really profound.
