You're conflating whiteness with middle classness. If this guy is eating ramen for breakfast more than once as a matter of necessity, this guy is poor. Poor white people, especially in rural areas, are at the exact same disadvantages as any PoCs: substandard education, low access to services and goods, limited opportunities for work (let alone career advancement), and static or regressive socio-economic status. If you're born poor, it's almost impossible to get unpoor, black or white or green or trans or bi or straight or Jewish or Christian or Pastafarian or tumblrina. Don't get "white" and "rich" twisted.

This isn't meant to be dismissive of actual problems that are the result of weird race issues in the US; white people, even the poor ones, are less likely to be killed by police in Texas for changing lanes without signaling. But it's not a fucking picnic to be broke as fuck, white or not, and assuming that not being murdered by law enforcement is a privilege that makes being hungry and exhausted and uninsured any easier, then I honestly don't believe you know what it means to be genuinely poor. You and I have been killed for the color of our skin the exact same number of times. Every issue is not about race, especially when you're talking about the very poorest Americans, who are disenfranchised in every conceivable way. This is about money, and people of all colors are living without it too often and too long. Comparing my poverty to his poverty or your poverty in increments of ramen does not help address the real issue, and using your lack of perceived (ultimately useless) privilege as a playing card in the game of Who Has It Worst isn't only unempathetic, it's hostile.
