It's unpopular because your initial statement that dogs are worth as much as humans is stupid, and because your current post makes no sense.

We're talking about the general population here. While there might be some PETA sillies like yourself out there that would apparently happily throw themselves in front of a train to save a duck (or at least tell themselves that until it's actually time to put their money where their mouth is and suddenly morals start shifting), we can safely say that popular opinion dictates that we recognize human life is worth more than animal life.

The train analogy does make sense, because it pits the worth of lives agaisnt each other which was the crux of the argument to begin with. How it's "sickening" is beyond me, though I'm guessing it's because you don't actually have much of value to respond with so you're trying to dismiss the argument altogether.

Why human life is worth more than animal life is because we are capable of so much more. We can create art; we see beauty; we reason. Animals work from instict, they don't have a grander plan or insight. Their existence isn't half as meaningful as that of a human.

Add to that the emotional bonds we humans form between each other, and you quickly see why a random animal life that doesn't have anywhere near that kind of bond, becomes less valuable to us.

But, you know, give your money to PETA and be right edgy when it comes to your assessment of the value of human life. See how much the rest of the world cares.
