I notice that many members of this subreddit have very different backgrounds, and I would personally like threads made specifically to let the badEasternPhilosophers argue about various concepts. Since that would allow members and newcomers to discover new thoughts, or subdivisions of their own school of thought, and also because I like arguments, I suppose it could be of the greatest interest. Sadly, I don't see how it could be implemented properly.

I like to describe myself as personally a Thomist but I tend o be very Socratic when dealing with others (or at least I try to be). I am a Westerner and it would be silly of me to pretend to be otherwise. However, I hope to be more fair to philosophies I differ from and let them speak for themselves.

For an introduction.

Most Vedantized Bhakti theologies in North India(exception:Ramanandis and Swaminarayan) that were not Advaitic followed bhedabheda strains of thought.

As that article says:

lineage continues today among traditional scholars in Puṣṭimārga and Gaudīya Vaiṣṇava religious communities.

Yep.

Late to the party, but here's my background:

Currently agnostic but grew up Christian. Spent a fair bit of time studying Christian theology (Catholic, Protestant, with a little Orthodoxy). Know just the basics of Buddhism, but my grasp of it is slowly getting better

Also a filthy westerner :)

/u/galaxyrocker[3] is a Daoist

I wouldn't say I am a Daoist, as much as Daoist thought really interests me; though the same can be said for Zoroastrianist, Buddhist, Hindu, Shinto, Jain, etc. thought as well...
