Jiji Press TOKYO (Jiji Press) — Former Japanese rugby international Akio Ueda died of amyloidosis, an intractable disease, at his home in Tokyo on Thursday at the age of 62.
Scrum-half Ueda played for Keio University and Toyota Motor Corp. He won six caps for Japan.
Becoming coach at Keio University in 1984, he won the Japanese collegiate and national titles in the 1985 season.
