One of my favourite scenes from this show was when he was interviewing a man on euthanasia and the controversies surrounding it, and Ali G kept asking the man "but what does it have to do with the youth in Asia?" The man was so frustrated lol.

"We have absolutely no evidence that the asians do it more than we do."

Frustrated old man cracked me up.

even though there's like beellions of them

I wonder if the doctors would think he was just an idiot and not joking if his character talked more normally.

pretty sure they thought he was an idiot

The first time I heard that word said, I thought I was missing out on knowing some big issue over in Asia.

I knew a friend doing a project on it, and I thought maybe he had a thing for Asians.

Turns out he does...

I think everyone does.

Meh

Asian women yeah, outside of Asia you'll be hard-pressed to find fanciers of Asian men

Are you serious? Within the gay community Asian men have plenty of admirers, and with the recent worldwide Korean boom there's a whole generation of teenage girls out there who want nothing more than their own Jonghyun to Donghae their Heechul.

Yeah I'm serious. Gays don't figure into the calculus they can't breed and they're only like 5% of the population besides.

I'm not saying I don't, but I definitely do.

Knowledge is power.

France is bacon.

"France is bacon?"

nods head knowingly

There was a level in one of the Worms games called Youth in Asia. I didn't understand at the time why my dad laughed.

that one is great!

my fav. is when he was interviewing the American farmer and veterinarian..

Ali G- "why were so many injured animals in Vietnam?" Farmer- "those are veterans not veterinarians" Ali G- "right. that's what I said. which one are you?" Farmer- "I am both a veteran of the Vietnam War, and a veterinarian of animals." Ali G- "okay mate now your just confused.." Farmer- looking very sad and stunned shakes his head

disclaimer- this is not 100% word-for-word

I love the part at 3:54 of this clip of the episode where he's amazed at the chicken with feathery feet.

Watch at 2:36 when he says " the goat doesn't talk to us". He breaks character for like a half second and laughs.

"How come he is wearing that?"

"Where are like, the tigers?"

"Is there any animals that ain't been discovered yet?"

If you have not watched this show, watch it. Watch them all. I'm pretty sure they are all on YouTube if you just looked up "Da Ali G Show, Season 1, Episode 1"

If I could have one wish in the world it would be for this show to come back.

Do you know what a farm is?

Well it's like a rubbish zoo obviously.

[–]Kenzu 4

OMG ALI G!!!! I can't stop laughing....... Bruno had his moments too! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MB3ZERLwQVM

It's been so long! Hahahha gold.

[–]football_in_thegroin 0ポイント1ポイント  (1子コメント)

Dude, the genuine look of disappointment on that man's face at around the 3 and 5 minute marks of the video is truly remarkable. That man is seriously worried about the youth of America.

He should be more worried about the youth of Britain.

This bit is so great because I had the same reaction the first time I saw a fancy breed of chicken.

Doesn't he refer to Mormons as morons too

I like when the one guy is "retired" and he's like "you're retarded" and he's like "yup". Both sides got lost in translation haha

He asked in response "physical or mental?"

That's not what we are saying about this man.

The best one is where he's talking to the FBI. Keeps calling them the FB and when the interviewee says "I" Ali G would follow up with Aii!

Ali in the F B, Ali in the F B

AAAIIIIIII!

I rather like the one where he's asked "in what situation is violence the answer?" And he says, "A violent one."

Oh my god, this is completely unrelated but one of David Sedaris's books had a chapter called "The Youth in Asia" and I never got it until now. Wow I feel stupid.

Ali G on Animal Rights is still my favourite - is it wrong to do medical experiments on animals.... in your own home?

IMO nothing beats the Kobe interview.

Kobe, how many springs does an official ball have in it?

how many springs? it doesn't have any springs in it.

why does it bounce then?

air, theres air in the ball.

well theres air in this room, how come this room aint bouncing?

My favorite Ali G moment was when he went to the UN and while with the guide he saw the Jordan seat and was like "listen, I know he is probably the best basketball player ever but does he really deserve his own UN seat?"

It was so great the guide took him completely serious.

Give it up for me main man boutros boutros boutros boutros boutros ghali

Put down your gun, and listen to bob marley.

[–]Obvious_Troll_Accoun 30ポイント31ポイント  (0子コメント)

He probably thinks he does

"I is here with my man Boutros Boutros Boutros Ghali"

My favorite would probably be:

"So these weapons of mass destruction, or as dey calls them, BLTs"

And the other guy rolls with it.

That other guy is Newt Gingrich

My favourite thing he ever said was as Bruno to a skinhead outside of a skinhead punk show: "Do you think there are any skinheads that aren't gay?"

I'm surprised that stuff like that never got him smacked in the gob. Or maybe it did and was cut.

On an episode a cameraman was punched by a collegiate wrestler. They got these wrestlers to start posing and flexing for Bruno, then he reveals it's for some gay Austrian tv show. I don't know if they ever aired the episode, but Sacha has talked about in interviews.

I've seen the episode but don't think they aired the cameraman getting hit.

Well he was threatened by terrorists so there's that

More of an implied threat. Terrorist got upset, someone else told Sacha that he needs to leave immediately.

Agreed I've always wanted some verification on his pranks being improv. If even half truly are, dude has some massive balls

A mate of my cousin's used to live with him years ago. He is definitely off his rocker and spontaneously funny as hell.

Bruno exposing the fashion industry was always my favorite.

"We take the clothes from the homeless people.. and then the homeless people cannot buy them!.. That is the beauty of fashion." All while giggling and interviewing someone agreeing with him.

Are you having a boy or an abortion ?

That movie was fucking retarded man. I love it.

It's the perfect line!

His cousin is like the world expert on autism. Had to learn a bunch of his research in college.

What a diversely successful family.

Is that the guy who also appears in the norwegian video 'gender equality paradox' ?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5LRdW8xw70

[–]Dimethyltrip_to_mars 1ポイント2ポイント  (1子コメント)

it is and they even mention their relationship in the video if you pay close attention.

Yeah, but maybe he had more famous people in his family, so I was just making sure.

Is that the same "S. Baron Cohen" who's name I saw in the back of my college psychology textbooks?

his brother plays music; he's done scores for movies I think

Big ups to da G and his main squeeze Julie. They do abortions like BOOYAKASHA!!!

Aksually his uncle Jemal does them with a wire coat 'anger round the back of Boots the chemist down tha high street.

My favorite Ali G: Noam Chomsky.

I love how calmly Chomsky deals with Ali's confusion of bilingual and bisexual.

Chomsky is ridiculously patient with people. You should see the e-mail correspondence he had with Sam Harris, that for some reason Harris decided to publish.

Actually, what's hilarious about that exchange is how little patience Noam has for Harris. It's pretty brutal.

Here's the link.

"I don't need to taste shit to know that I won't like it..." - My wife on a subject I can't remember (2007)

To be fair, if she did like it, would she admit it openly?

I won't see her the same anymore...

Here's a similar quote

"I don't need to be a master chef to know when someone serves me something that tastes bad."

I felt the same way about heroin.

I'm now trying to reduce the number of times I try heroin...a day.

I felt the same way about abortions.

Now I'm trying to reduce the amount of abortions I get... a day.

That's how I felt about Reddit years ago, especially the cumbersome comment system. But then I tried it and yay! I've loved Reddit since then.

I saw the layout of reddit for the first time and I was put off the site

If it wasn't for Bacon Reader I wouldn't use reddit.

I was too at first, but I think it had more to do with me thinking it was like 4chan. I love the layout of Reddit now though, especially the comments section because it doesn't jumble up comments and comment quoting like a lot of forums do

Reddit would be unususable for me without 3rd party apps and extensions.

That's funny. The first time I saw reddit's layout I loved it. I've been trapped ever since.

I'm pretty sure I saw the site 2-3 years before I actually joined. I thought the design was a mess and just left. I even knew of 4chan before Reddit, and I still haven't bothered to look at it much because that is an even worse design. Before Reddit I stayed pretty much on Youtube.

Question for all you smart people: what's the best mobile (iPhone) app for browsing reddit? I don't like Alien Blue, and I like Pics HD but it only has pictures and gifs. Any suggestions?

I'm using AMRC, it seemed the most intuitive for me.

Plus it doesn't help that on the other websites views on reddit and it's users in a similar way to how non apple users view apple products.

Respekt

R.E.S.T.E.C.P Do you even know what that spells?

Slightly paraphrased from George Carlin: "Have you ever noticed that pro-life supporters are people you wouldn't want to fuck in the first place?"

[–]Likes_Information 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

It's just amazing how many of them keep breeding nonetheless!

Valid point. I like the flame broiled whoppers too.

I've never had one. I've never had an abortion either, come to think of it. SO MUCH OF LIFE IS PASSING ME BY.

[–]thisisnt_working4me 11ポイント12ポイント  (0子コメント)

You haven't lived until you've had a flame broiled abortion.

An abortion with cheese, large fries, and a coke is fuckin perfect on a lazy day. You really should hit up BK sometime.

"Is you very anti-abortions because you yourself was aborted?"

Scientists say, because of global warming, that soon, the UK could be as hot as Ibiza. Let's make it happen.

Flawless logical analysis.

So you're saying we can't be against murder and rape unless we try it ourselves?

I was the same way with Jimmy John's. Then a co-worker gave me a coupon for a free sub and now I eat there at least once a month.

Perhaps all these anti-abortion folk need is a little discount to get them hooked. Maybe something like those little punch cards they have. Every sixth abortion is free of charge.

That'll get you shot with a shotgun.

[–]Jim_Nills_Mustache 4ポイント5ポイント  (0子コメント)

He has a point, Whoppers are pretty amazing.

The best part of that whole skit was his interview with the virgin:

Top 3 funniest shows of all time. I miss that shit.

Unfortunately a show like this can only last for so long.

Eventually people know who you are and stop letting you interview them.

Ali G taught me that "bell end" was slang for the tip of a penis. "Saddam Hussein is a bell end."

Do you think eating shit is bad? How do you know if you've never tried it?

I've never killed someone before but I don't need to try it to know I wouldn't like it

"Uh... for fun?!"

I like when he's talking to the farmer. The guy gets so frustrated.

Then he sees the chicken and he's like "why's he wearin that"

One time I saw Ali interviewing a U. N. Official when after a rant from the official he asked "Is Disney Land a part of the U.N.?" I almost died of laughter.

Best moment was when he went to a coal mine and when looking at a picture of miners he asked why only 'brothers' were miners. He also had a lovely blue Renault 5 turbo. "Ali G in the country side"

I'm sure she knows all about the Whopper.

Did you kill anybody? No. So why are you against it? Did you steal something? No. Why are you against it?

"I don't know if murder is bad, maybe I should try murdering someone before I pass judgement..."

This is the counter argument.

Do you need to try murder to know it's bad?

In all seriousness, British redditors, are Chavs really this retarded? I know Ali G is an exaggeration of the culture but is some of it based in truth? Here in the States we have functional idiots of all creeds and classes and I assume it's the same in the UK as well.

BK's marketing division getting weird.

That's how I feel about peoples perceptions on murder and rape! Don't knock it till you try it! /s.

Edit. Obviously I'm joking.

But I thought THOSE people couldn't eat cows?

Can't tell if ignorant or stupid

I understand the joke, but the actual argument holds no water at all; I think murder and rape are bad, and I've never tried either (and so Ali G says I must try these things before thinking ill of them, if he's at all consistent), to give an extreme example.

If extreme examples bug you for some reason, I've also never told someone else's secret, and I look down on giving out information that isn't yours even though I myself have never broken someone else's trust. The same goes for shoplifting. Never done that either, but I certainly take issue with those who steal from stores.
