I heard theyre going through a rebranding due to the bad wrap for game trade ins. Theyll soon be called GameRape.

actually they bought and merged several previous game store companies... software etc, and babbages being 2 others besides funcoland.

EB Games was the main competitor in the South Florida area that they bought up. They had a lot of mall stores branded as both of them until they had brand awareness

Gamestop bought out funcoland in 2002 or so. They later bought eb games. They didn't rename eb games because they wanted to give an illusion of options.

They also bought Babbage's and eventually they did change the EB Games name.

Actually, after the rebranding theyre going to have a special: if you trade in 5 or more games and systems theyll let you take advantage of their bonus promotion where you get extra store credit towards a PS4 or XboxOne. The promotion is called 'Gangbang.' The catch is that you have to bend over for the bonus.
