I study ww1 and let me tell you there is absolutely no shortage. MUH STROSSTRUPPEN. It actually is thoroughly ingrained in popular history. It doesn't matter that the French did it in 1915, the Ruskies in 1916, and the British in 1917. The Germans did it in 1918 and lost horribly so they for some reason are given credit for inventing small unit tactics.

Do they turn up on Reddit though? I don't really see it anywhere. maybe only in niche subreddits?

Oh sweet summer child.

Yes it's everywhere but people don't recognize it because:

  1. WW1 isn't talked about often

  2. People don't think it's even controversial so it doesn't get a lot of exposure

But lemme tell you if I had a nickel for every time someone on reddit said some variation of those Germans broke trench warfare with super advanced infiltration tactics I'd be rollin in it.

You could post it here, if your liver can take it!

Because being a wehraboo kinda includes it, seeing as to the majority, the Wehrmacht is an organic progression of the Reichswehr.

Muh prussian junkers and all.

As a pedantic note, as far as I know it was only officially known as Reichswehr under the Weimar Republic, wasn't it?

But anyway, yeah I guess it kind of belongs to the same group, although you still don't see a lot of it.

Probably because general interest in WWI is far below that of WW2.

Just last week I passed what looked like an apartment building where on one of the balconies there was what looked like an Imperial German flag.

But I'd say the reason there doesn't seem to be a lot of WWI German apologists is because in pop culture WWI was fought almost accidentally because of alliances, and Germany wasn't more at fault than the Allies. Plus it's just not as popular as WWII, so apologists don't feel the need to constantly defend Imperial Germany's honor.

There are -boos for just about every period of German history. Seems like Prussia/HRE/Nazi Germany/German Empire etc are always one of the most popular factions in any Paradox or Total War game or any game like them.
