There's also a whole lot of wildly racist anti-Muslim stuff in The River War, his account of fighting the Mahdi uprising in Egypt & Sudan. Churchill was a product of his time and a huge believer in British imperialism and scientific racism and the white man's burden and everything else that came with it. Not very kind to India, either...

I'm addressing your point solely. Let's concentrate just on that. We all don't live in a world of Unicorns and Rainbows. Churchhill made a decision to export the food and feed his troops so another mass murderer (sure you've heard of him, Hitler) would not continue his advance to overtake Europe as a whole. Many, many Indians may have died but the Allies were able to overcome the axis and many counties were able to remain their own countries and overcome their occupation. If Churchill is a 'shitstain' for making hard decisions during a time of war you obviously don't understand the gravity of the entire situation during that time period.

Okay. So address it. How is "Should I be exporting food from a region that is experiencing famine?" a difficult decision? And keep in mind, these exports were used to burnish stockpiles, not to fill a dire need.

He was also quoted as saying, "I hate Indians, they are a beastly people with a beastly religion." (Most likely referring to Hinduism)

It's also important to keep in mind that the extent of the Holocaust was unknown at this point. In fact, Churchill was at this point blaming Jewish persecution on Jews themselves (again, important to keep in mind that the extent of the Holocaust was not known).

I'm sure the stockpiles were used and helped the allies advance the European front. You're forming an opinion based on 1 fact that you read at that time. It's very easy to throw stones at a glass house and characterize Churchill as a 'shitstain' when you don't have the slightest clue of all the mixed components during that particular time. The Dutch had a pretty hard time of it in '44 as well.

I think the point he's trying to make is that for Churchill it probably wasn't a "difficult decision" it was much more of a "fuck those guys" type of thing.

That was the general consensus of many during that time period. Jews, Catholics, blacks, Asians and more were all looked down upon if not worse. To fuel the fire Japan bombed Pearl Harbor. If you call Churchhill a shitstian bacuase of his racists tendencies you may as well throw many other prominent fugues into that time frame mix.

Around in circles we go. My point was Churchill made a decision, all personal tendencies aside.

Save Europe, or save India. I do not believe the man made this decision because he 'hated' Indians. I believe he made his decision for the love of King and Country. You'd have to have some serious fucking hatred in you to 'fuck those guys.' Let's be real here.

I properly filed the letter in the trash where it belonged and never heard another word about the ordeal.

Now to address whatever his name is using his own words "What a dumbass."
