I think it's people who don't want kids but feel really guilty/insecure about it (maybe due to family/peer pressure) so they cope by being extremely anti-kid and anti-parent.

Why is it that everyone who is vocally upset about something to any degree has to be secretly insecure that thing? Sure some people take the anti-kid stance a little far, but most people in the sub just don't want children and are tired of people denying them who they are casually. The people in childfree aren't staging fucking protests in maternity wards,they aren't even brigading other subs, they're bitching to like minded people.

It's a largely rant forum. You're seeing pretty much the worst of people 70% of posts. You can't come to any conclusions about anyone based on the posts in almost any sub, because it's less than 1% of their daily lives in a single post with almost no other information about an individual.

I'm a sub to child free. I've only posted once or twice, but it's nice to see a community of people that agrees with you when you're part of a minority. I don't feel insecure or guilty about it, I just hate when I get told that basically I don't know who I am and what I want, and like to know that I'm not alone in that fact.

I spend maybe 5 minutes a day on /r/childfree. Does that mean I go around punching babies the rest of the day? No. I go to work, come home and watch TV, hang out with my fiance, normal people shit. I also happen to have no plans for ever coming home, watching TV, having out with my wife and kids, which is also normal people shit.
