It's all that fuzz. It's highly flammable, like dryer lint.

Even with your comment, I was not expecting that.

Somehow i was disappointed to not see a Bighearted Goldenretriever.

That's what a mild one looks like.

Excuse me, that is clearly Barkour.

Looks like a white Pomeranian.

Yes. A baby seal. Aka snow flake.

Is it just me, or does parkour seem to be a lot more popular in countries with universal healthcare?

Impressive skills in the gym!

That turns into free running almost immediately.

What's the difference?

Technically, Parkour is the most efficient movements from point A to point B. So no flips or spins or flashy moves. Freerunning is the flashy stuff you usually see on TV. It also happens to be quite a bit more fun.

Depending on the person, I prefer the efficiency of parkour more than freerunning.

Oh most definitely. I just always enjoyed being a bit more flashy. I always felt freerunning was more expressive than parkour.

I thought it was the other way around?

TIL I like to watch parkour but not freerunning.

the difference is basically that free running has flips. parkour aims to be efficient, while free running aims to have style. many people don't bother making the distinction though

Great song in the Source video. Love stumbling across Tech N9ne unexpectedly.

Could he have been any less lucky?

He could've fallen into a container of medical waste.

And become a superhero? How is that less lucky?

He only broke his face... so yes.

Well in that case, he didn't lose much

Parkoooooouuuuurrrrr.....

Excuse me but isn't this considered free running? Parkour is about traversing obstacles with efficiency, while free running is doing so as an art form, with mostly flips and such

The art of genre nitpicking is making its way into free running soon, stay tuned for more.

I fail to see how climbing and jumping off of buildings is "more efficient" than just going around the building.

You're not climbing fast enough.

It's their philosophy, not mine

Basic mathematics dictates that the most efficient path is a straight line.

Not if there's a wall.

I see what you're saying and yes for the most part the phiosophy is the quickest and most efficient way from point A to point B. When you're training the reason you're doing wall runs etc is practicing this stuff in the event you'll need it for something to traverse. Typically most parkour involves running in a straight line with maybe a few kong jumps or hand vaults.

However flipping and anything aerial is considered extremely inefficient so that tends to fall into the category of "Free Running" some practitioners of Parkour only practice Parkour and are very militant about the uselessness of free running, and the practitioners of Free Running think people who practice Parkour have sticks up their asses. As someone who used to practice Parkour, I can safely say I was just scared shitless of flipping and stuff so I made it seem like it was because of the philosophy of Parkour that I didn't free run. I also found free run to be very show boat-y but Parkour can be as well.

Anything aerial is considered extremely inefficient

That is my understanding of the matter. I'm not saying they are wrong to do it, especially if it isn't hurting anyone, but it isn't efficient.

Yeah you're right. It's extra energy added no matter how good you are at it, and being in the air slows you down where as if you're performing a hand-vault or something you ideally want to be moving fast enough that the hand you put down on the wall or whatever is just the same as using your leg on the ground, it keeps you connected to the ground and you can use that force to push yourself further.

The first half of this gif wasn't even parkour.

Most people who care about parkour vs free running are people who haven't done either.

that last part... why?

his foot clipped the barrier, if thats what your asking. if it hadnt he would have landed on the roof

Yeah but why did that make the highlight reel?

Cause they were in the middle of shooting a video for the youtube channel.

Now he will need time to recover and they won't be able to shoot what they wanted.

So why waste footage. Post it and tell the viewers what's up.

I don't think he meant to do that.

[–]my_lucid_nightmare 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

I like how he nails most of the easy ones

[–]Eine_Bier_Getrunken -2ポイント-1ポイント  (0子コメント)

The fall is so brutal because for the first 90% of this gif, everything is going perfectly.

I feel like parkour becomes a thing where landing basic "stuns" gives you the mentality that you can do more "risky" ones. Of course I'm not saying he can't do it etc. But it seems like is process was go at it fast and hard, which seems to cause his foot to jot the barrier causing the fall.

Not good- think I saw a shoe come off.

We only care about 2+ shoes coming off.

So, 1 shoe coming off only means he's half dead? Or paraplegic maybe?
