So a certain mod is having a meltdown and mass deleting comments, then banning anyone who criticizes or asks why from /r/documentaries. I was banned for sending a PM urging them to resign from modding if it is too difficult a job to maintain responsibly. Several were banned simply for asking why their innocuous comments were deleted and disagreeing.
The recent protests were meant to empower mods, not contribute to unchecked power trips. 99% of the mods are awesome and we should be thankful they take the quality of reddit seriously. But if even 1% are failing to uphold the standards of this website and abusing their little mod powers, whether due to ego or incompetence or a stubborn unwillingness to be reasonable, that is unacceptable. One bad apple should not have such a large effect on what could be a decent subreddit.
