so i crashed my car at highway speeds in a parking lot at my work in october. I am now being charged with the felony of negligent operation with findings. there was no sobriety test, or drug screen. im going to court on july 23rd and cant afford a lawyer. my uncle is a cop and is showing up with me to be a judge of character. no one was hurt in the accident. the wall was slightly damaged but is still standing and working totally fine. this is my ONLY ticket ever. im 21. HALP. p.s. im representing my self and mostly clueless as to how these things work. p.p.s. i took a driving retraining course as recommended by a magistrate, for a deal that he didnt follow through with. its on my record and i have a grad certificate. p.p.p.s. its attleboro district court in MA of the USA zip 02703

umm i applied for free representation by an attorney but dont qualify. the court date is this thursday. how would i do that?

Seriously.

Get off of reddit and call every single criminal defense attorney in the phone book and ask to work out a payment plan for representation. Many law offices will work with you if you aren't a shady character.

You have given them absolutely no time to prepare any sort of defense for your case. An actual law office would have spent those ten months finding witnesses, hiring vehicle experts, surveying the vehicle, photographing the accident site...now instead of a defense you are showing up with a relative and hoping for the best.

Stop what you are doing and contact law offices now.

it was an older automatic camaro. the throttle cable go hung up, and it was like 730 in the morning (i was on my way to work) so i tried messing with it using my foot, the throttle got worse and i paniced and tried using the brakes which didnt help at all except to leave on giant skid mark on the gorund. i then hit the wall on the road into the parking lot at around 65 miles an hour.

Nope! I prefer to fly under the radar especially while on the road. That car was just so nice, I could not pass up on it when i had the money! If only I knew how much trouble it would get me in. Like I said that is my only other ticket I've gotten since I got my license when I turned 18. I was a mechanic for a while, and your job depends on your driving record.

I also suffered a concussion from the accident, but it wasn't serious so i didn't mention it. I was counting my lucky stars that day.

This is why you need an attorney. He/she may be able to fight the charge or get it lowered.

So wait, you were on the highway but left the roadway and crashed into the wall?

You need an attorney, but failing that, you need someone who can explain what happened better than you did originally, because from your original post... I assumed you were speeding through a parking lot and lost control...
