You're right. Walt is a bitch.

Why do I never listen...

Why is the sub-title way the hell up there?

[–]mybootsaretootight 3ポイント4ポイント  (0子コメント)

Sometimes, when opening credits are rolling, the subtitles become supertitles. At least, from my experience, depending on the gadget. This happens with my Chromecast.

so that they don't overlap the credits appearing at the bottom

Skyler is awesome.

Skylar's a level-headed, reasonable character that's caught in a completely shitty situation against her will but tries to fit into it to protect her children and family.

Yeah, she's got some flaws, but they don't come close to Walt's issues what with the drug dealing, lying, child endangerment, multiple murders, conspiracy...

People just get mad at Skylar because she (justifiably) gets in the way of Heisenberg-Super-Fun-Time-Drug-Adventures. People wanted Breaking Bad to just be pure escapist fantasy, but that's not what it was trying to be at all, and they blame Skylar for it.

Nah this is why.

tldr: everybody hates fat chicks.

That and she fucked Ted.

In all seriousness, in my opinion, she's the most human character on the show. She's an emotional mess that tries (and fails) repeatedly, never giving up. She makes hasty decisions, she has poor judgement, she's quick to anger, and she lacks objectivity.

People see themselves in her, and that scares them. Skylar is afraid of making the wrong decision and never strays outside of her comfort zone, whereas Walter is always taking big risks and trying to move forward regardless of the cost.

It's not that she's a buzzkill, but why she's a buzzkill -- she has some redeeming qualities and makes a few good decisions, but overall she's very easy to dislike. We can see her decision making thought process, and we are shown, step by excruciating step, how much damage she does. Watching her is like watching a car crash in slow motion.

Some of the things she's done are controversial but they end up being the right thing, but generally we're shown non-stop fuck-ups again and again.

If we saw Walter fail as much as Skylar does then nobody would watch the show, but instead we're overwhelmingly shown his victories. That contrast alone influences people's attitudes towards her very strongly, if not more than anything else.

I watched the entire show without any input from the Internet on whom to hate. Ofc I really connected with Skylar as a character who was caught in a horrible situation where she slowly lost the man she loved and ultimately gave up trying to get him back. Her cheating was bad but I kinda understand it.

Imagine my surprise after finishing the show to find the internet hating her guts. Oh anonymous people you...

The only problem I had with Skyler was that she slept with Ted. There was no reason for that affair.

She felt powerless against Walt, and only thing she could do is harm him emotionally.

I thought Skyler was a great character
