As a black man, I came to Reddit because it was a bastion of free speech. It was a place where I could come and be judged on the quality of what I had to say - not the person who said it. It was a place where new ideas could be born, because nobody was afraid of expressing their honest thoughts, opinions, and theories. From what I've seen, SJWs want to destroy that. They care more about who you are than what you say, and if you're not a trans-woman genderqueer attack helicoptor feminist, your ideas don't count.

As a black man, I hate /r/coontown , but I would defend to my death their right to speak freely. /u/spez, What will you do to ensure that reddit remains a free and open platform for everyone?

also as a black dude, fuck /r/coontown, and you can ban it if you want.

It incites racial hatred. And in the country I live in, racial hatred is intimately connected to violence both historically and in the modern world.

As a white dude, fuck /r/coontown. Reddit would be a better place without it.

I, too, am black. Uh, I don't even bother to go to that side of reddit... If they hate me for some weird thing I have no control over, that's their weird problem.

As another black man, you're a fucking moron. Walking up and down the street calling people niggers isn't free speech. It's a crime.

Where would we be without an uncle tom to start the discussion off!

I don't care what your skin color is. r/coontown needs to go.

That subreddit hashtag is great for a witty comment, but it's really not adding anything and it's practically insulting to respond to someone's clearly thought out post with that one liner.

as a black man, twice? calling BS o'er here

Masterful pandering to the reddit majority. Round of applause

As a black man, I hate /r/coontown[1] , but I would defend to my death their right to speak freely.

And the racists of reddit will clamour to your comment with support.

As another black man, I am not comfortable with reddit providing a safe-haven for such degenerates and it sends a message to me that reddit prioritizes these racists over people like me. There are plenty of safe-havens for racists on the internet, there's no reason for reddit to also be one.

Oh please, we're gonna play that SJW-boogeyman here? We both know damn well that what you said isn't true, racism isn't going to disspear from reddit, it never can but reddit fueling and providing a space to nurutre racism can be fought.

The social system of pluralism means that we do not pick a single right way of thinking, but tolerate all forms of thought. This means that for all of us, there is some thought that will offend us and make us doubt our special snowflake status. While /r/CT is the most extreme example, all of us can find some sub we wish would burn in hellfire.

Did you even read the submission text?

WE'LL DANCE AS THE SUBREDDITS BURN!

ALSO WE'RE MADE OF STRAW

So are you saying that if /r/coontown is banned, you will do anything including dying to get it restored? What's your game plan there?

This is the most important question here. Honestly, are we going to have to go somewhere else other than Reddit to be able to speak freely?

Cheers to that. I am gay man and I fully support free speech.

Thank you Movkey, liberty transcends all classes and creeds.

That's a hard thing to say but I agree. "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it,"

We don't have to allow it on a private internet forum though.

As a stranger behind a screen, I agree with this.
