I'm sorry on behalf of the people of reddit who engaged in (or who passively enabled) a campaign of abuse against you. I'm sorry, too, for people like myself, who don't personally identify with the reddit "community," but who are nonetheless embarrassed by what happened.

I'm sorry you had to suffer such a volley of attacks -- mostly personal, and very evidently undeserved. Distortions were made and then magnified, and used as the basis on which to harass you. Your past was combed over and thrown in your face (on the basis of some tenuous supposed link to your present conduct).

It really sucked. To think it may have contributed to your leaving your job really sucks, too.

Hope you're doing well. It seems like the craze has mostly abated, and people are waking up to the real nature of what happened and why.
