also as my final comment on the subject can I just say how sad and hilarious it is that a bunch of grown adult professional writers were like “what if we introduce a magic powder that makes you see people as the opposite gender??” like how religiously dedicated to the idea of the gender binary do you have to be to come up with something like that and not immediately realise that it’s both ridiculous and inherently a bad idea. What does the powder even do, does it make you see cis guys with titties and cis women with beards? What about if you see a woman who naturally has facial hair, does your head explode? Does it make anyone who isn’t a cis man or woman completely invisible, or does it make you see them as pterodactyls or what? The absolute lack of imagination or critical thought on display in that decision alone is amazing

I still keep thinking about how silly this is like how did the protag know that the powder would make them into a “cute girl”??? does the powder work like a deviantart gender swap and boys turn into a conventionally attractive and big-titted anime girl version of themselves? What if he turned into a girl that wasn’t what she considers cute. What if he used the powder and the character was like “you look exactly the same to me because your appearance is ultimately completely undecided by your gender identity, sorry”. What if he used the wrong powder and she started seeing everyone as their fursona. I’d buy a drug that lets me see everyone as their fursona tbh
