There's already CP and copyrighted content on the blockchain.

There's no need for us to add in illegal content, bitcoiners already have that covered for us.

You Sir, are one steely eyed idea's man.

But where would you send the DCMA's? Or could you just make a blanket announcement that every node is in breach of the law by hosting the blockchain.

They might even end up on a block chain gang!

I'm pretty sure you have to pay by the kilo though.

I'd never condone putting illegal content on the blockchain. But if someone did it, lots (and informed Fox news or something). I've no doubt it would be good for Bitcoin.

More hilariously, if you uploaded a binary file with a virus (or a virus-like signature) you might be able to take down many nodes, as the AV software attempts to clean or shut down the process with the 'virus'.

The EICAR test file is only 68 bytes: X5O!P%@AP[4\PZX54(P^)7CC)7}$EICAR-STANDARD-ANTIVIRUS-TEST-FILE!$H+H*

Pretty sure this already happened when some ancient DOS virus' signature ended up on the blockchain.
