Remember Leelah Alcorn? This is reddit, so probably not. Leelah was a transgender female who committed suicide last December. Her death was a symbol of the hardship of trans youth in the USA.
Here is where our story begins.
A person named Alex Yrigoyen(AKA Miller) steps up and decides, in memory of Leelah, that they would start a charity to help transitioning youth called The Leelah Project; the charity would involve sending packages to trans youth, mostly hygiene products and clothes for the desired sex.
All throughout their time as the head of this charity, people noticed things were... "off". Alex made odd and contradictory claims, about their job (claiming at different points to both be a nurse and to work at NASA), their heritage, the number of languages they speak. They were also frequently begging for money, using excuses like "Paypal got hacked". Being a nonbinary youth however, and a face for championing trans rights, their fans did not want to believe anything was wrong, and defended Alex vehemently.
A group of people (so far unidentified) became suspicious when no one had seemed to get a package and started gathering evidence that Alex's charity was a scam. Once they had what they thought was sufficient evidence, they approached Alex and gave them an ultimatum- cooperate or they would be putting all their evidence up. Alex immediately shut the entire project down, so the group created a blog called ExposingAlex and posted their evidence.

Poke around those blogs for additional drama regarding the trans community and preferred pronouns, plagiarism, mental illness and personal responsibility, and cultural appropriation.
