Gays have been around for a long time, but it is possible there could be environmental factors contributing to the rise in homosexuality.

Drugs like antidepressants are most likely contributing to the rise in asexuality. Antidepressant exposure can leave a permanent dampened sex drive in a user. I never regained my sex drive after my exposure with SSRIs.

Studies have shown when rodents were exposed to antidepressants at a young age or in the womb they showed no sexual behavior in adulthood.

There could also be people becoming bi-sexual or homosexual from being exposed to an antidepressant. They may not understand what happened to their sexuality and may just think they are gay. Though the excess estrogen in our environment (including from sources like soy and plastics) could potentially be why there seems to be an explosion in the population of homosexuals, feminized males, masculinized women, those suffering from gender dysmorphia, etc...
