Apparently the shooter is calling and taunting the cops. The shooter called and told the cops he had a large bomb by the cops command center.

Source: Talked to a cop just a few min ago.

Edit: Press conference on now. Suspect has Sandy blonde hair, in addition to previous description.

On the EMS frequency they just reported a call from someone claiming to be the suspect saying that there is an explosive device on the property.

EDIT: They're staging two engines at Calhoun and Meeting.

EDIT2: Saying it's a nitroglycerine device, in a gray or sliver metal toolbox with appox 86 minute countdown. [Not clear where they're getting this information, probably from the caller?]

EDIT3: Sounds like PD advised the scene is secure.

I work on Hutson street and walked out of work to see mad undercover cops, regular cops, about six ambulances, and some fire department vehicles.

It trips me out that it happened at a church and there is no motive as of yet.....and the dude is still on the loose.

Good vibes to the families and friends of the victims and to the suspect's friends and family. I can't even imagine what they are going through.

It was at the most historic AME church downtown. My guess would be a dispute since it was late meaning a specific gathering like a party or something that people in the African American community would have known about.

I doubt it was a hate crime but the church is by far the most well known African Methodist Episcopal church in the city.
