This Budget rental truck had its roof pretty badly scraped at the canopener. Definitely not the best move by the driver. They stopped and checked the damage, then continued on.

Busy week here at the 11foot8 bridge. First Mayhem on Monday and now Two-Men-and-a-Truck Thursday. They did not get stuck, but they sure made a mess of their truck and left metal debris all over the road.

Not only did 2 trucks hit the trestle this morning, they were both from the same rental company. The fist one is a classic canopener! Wheelie and all!! The second crash is not so spectacular, but the passenger actually had to be treated by EMS and taken away in an ambulance due to head injuries sustained in the accident. However, I am told that the injuries were not severe.

Another Penske rental truck hit the 11foot8 bridge yesterday. The driver kept going as if nothing had happened. Several pounds of truck debris littered the street on a busy Friday afternoon, so the community came together and cleaned up the mess.I got there well after the incident, but i did secure some choice pieces of debris. They will go up for sale on the 11foot8 website shortly.

Not a very spectacular incident, but a good opportunity to show off the new camera I just installed. The flip arm of the truck’s tarp cover hit the crash beam and then the two main supports of the trestle.

On Tuesday, a rental truck turned right onto Gregson St from Peabody St and crashed into the bridge. This is an interesting, new level of fail. Drivers at this corner tend to focus on the traffic from the left and neglect checking what’s on their right hand side, like pedestrians or low bridges. This is the first time I have observed a truck hitting the 11foot8 bridge in this particular manner.

On March 24, a yellow truck ripped open the right top side and the back of the box under the 11foot8 bridge.

March 11 aound 5:40 PM, a Penske rental truck got wedged under the 11foot8 bridge. It took the an hour to get it out, probably by letting the air out of the tires.

A forklift is damaged when a flatbed truck hits the 11foot8 trestle. Sadly my camera is useless at night.

Last Tuesday, a flatbed truck with a tall stack of insulation on the bed tried to go under the 11foot8 bridge. Guess what happened. Exactly. This is “crash” #84 since April 2008.

This truck was just a hair too tall to fit. The front of the box fit right under the crash beam, but then he got stuck halfway and had to back out. (That part is sped up in the video). This crash was filmed on Jan. 8, 2015 and it is #83 since April 2008.
The train trestle prominently featured in all the videos here has earned a reputation for its unrelenting enforcement of the laws of physics. If your vehicle is taller than 11 feet and 8 inches, and you challenge this bridge, you might find footage of your experience on this website.
