He's a professional quote maker.

Hey you have to pay royalties to /u/aalewis for using his work, after all he is a professional and doesn't work for free

That's about the same as liking your own Facebook post

Did you read his name? Gator don't play your shit.

OP was so close to making something awesome, so close. Yet he had to blow it at the end

I see no reason to avoid using a good quote just because I happen to be the author. :)

remeber the human?

Quoted himself and misspelled 'remember'.

Can this go up with the redditors at /r/atheism that quoted themselves with that self indulgent bullshit a few years ago?

What a shitpost. The idea was alright and then just totally fucked more than everyone PAO has screwed over

the women held back for year

Years? A Year?

This is so fucking cringe. Holy shit OP.

This totally just confirmed it's time for me to unsubscribe from this subreddit.

Yeah, this is top shelf shit post.

And yet it's got 1200+ karma.

Yep. I'm gone too. This guy's comments are some of the cringiest I've read in a while. Can't allow this sort of bullshit if this sub and its goal want to be taken seriously.

Finding it hard to breathe up there on your high horse? I don't disagree but fucking hell you have to love yourself to quote yourself. Get a life.

Definitely autistic or a troll

God, this is pathetic. I mean you OP.

There's no need to twist the knife here. I don't approve of Pao or the decisions she made but it's over, she's not a part of Reddit's administration any more. It's time for all of Reddit as a community to start building for a better future, not dwell over recent history.

Twisting the knife by calling out hypocrisy that played out on this site in the last 48 hours? Jesus you must hate the news then?

Lol can't wait for srs. Don't quote yourself.

I think somebody needs a break from the Internet..

Remember the terrible human.

Likely knew about? I guess. Whatever, shes gone, can we drop it?

Besides "remeber the human" you said "held back for year". Proof read that shit first man!

Especially, if you're quoting yourself.

Not only is it a shitty quote, it's a shitty quote riddled with mistakes.

I'm a bot, bleep, bloop. Someone has linked to this thread from another place on reddit:

And with that, I think it's time to unsubscribe.

She's gone, she did bad, but please stop pile driving it into the ground; some celebratory posts are cool, but this is like she was just arrested for septuple murder. She tried to go toe to toe with something far more powerful that she could've anticipated and lost, brutally. She's not Hitler, she didn't steal millions from a children's cancer fund, she didn't sign a global UN bill that would legalize unlimited pollution and make the national religion Christianity (r/atheism just felt a disturbance there).

Ellen Pao is a still human being, although small in morals and standards, but I think the hate speech circlejerking needs to end. It's over.

She's gone, she did bad, but please stop running it into the ground.

It literally happened yesterday... p.s. I must've missed all the hate speech and circle jerk in my post?

It's this entire sub fuckwit. You don't see almost every person in this thread calling you an idiot for this?

Get off your high horse like you're the one that made her step down

A whole lotta other stuff I didn't say... And where's everyone calling me an idiot?

Remeber

This is why no one will take you seriously.

its a fucking internet site. get over yourself.

Says the guy posting on a meta subreddit!

Pro tip: Ellen Pao is not responsible for whatever wrongs her husband committed.

She's not completely without blame if she knew something illegal or immoral was going on, though.

Is there proof that she knew something illegal or immoral was happening?

*crickets *

If there were evidence in this vein, presumably it'd be all over reddit.

That's what I assumed. Reddit sure loves witch hunts!

[–]Van_by_the_river 0ポイント1ポイント  (5子コメント)

i mean they are married, and she is a business woman. Did she not wonder where all this money was coming from? And the fact she is still married to him kinda supports the op that she doesn't care about what is right and wrong.

I'm married, my wife doesn't know everything I'm doing at work. She doesn't ask me where my money comes from, she just assumes its from work.

My husband doesn't ask me where my money comes from or vice versa. Our accounts are separate. As long as bills get paid, it doesn't matter.

Buddy Fletcher hasn't even been found guilty. He's been accused.

Why is Reddit so gung-ho over civil rights until we're talking about someone the hivemind doesn't like? I'm worried that the culture on Reddit is deteriorating.

Everyone's guilty except for men accused of rape. They're innocent every time fo sho.

Did she not wonder where all this money was coming from?

He was managing a hedge fund at the time and falsely reporting profits when he hadn't turned any in years, and only during an unrelated lawsuit did his finances come to light. I don't like Pao, but there's no reason to think she had any idea he was falsely reporting profits. Even if money was coming in, his facade of a successful hedgefund manager would have explained it.

However, he now owes his lawyers in his lost racial discrimination lawsuit $2.7 million, the exact amount Pao essentially tried to extort Kleiner Perkins for in exchange for not appealing her lost gender discrimination lawsuit, so... that one's a little harder to brush off cavalierly.

But OP's quote is kind of bullshit. There are legit reasons to not like Pao; presuming she knew about her husband's shady financial schemes at the time the were going on isn't one of them.

I mean, no, but its a little fishy that she would have no idea anything weird was going on. The amount of money she sued for in her gender discrimination case (which she lost btw) was the exact amount of money her husband owed for his ponzi scheme. Its just a giant red flag. Probably nothing can be proved, but that doesn't stop it from looking really sketchy, and I'm allowed to speculate.

Life pro tip: don't snitch

Her sex discrimination lawsuit (which she lost) was conveniently the amount of money her husband owed for his ponzi scheme.

if she knew of her housebands wrongdoings then she not only didn't stop them, but continued to engage in a romantic relationship with him.

People fall in love with criminals all the time.

Hell, there's even a dating site for inmates.

Uh, surre. She's not responsible, but if they divorced she's entitled to half his stuff.

This is the stupidest thing I've read today, and the fact that it's preceded by "pro tip" makes it that much worse.

You must not have read much.

I guess her hands got cold and dead, huh?

The quote at the end is just too much cringe, I have to get off Reddit today.

brah you know she's still on board, right?

Yeah, that's why I posted this. She's a hypocrite.

RIP OP's comment karma.

Yeah! If a person makes poor decisions in their career that negatively effect other peoples' lives or happens to be married to someone who does the same, it totally validates comparing them to Hitler and Chairman Mao and issuing death threats to her! You tell em!

She has nothing to do with her husband's actions. She did shitty things pre-reddit, she did shitty things at reddit, but she isn't affecting you anymore. You don't have to like her, but she gave you what you wanted. She stepped down. Now the least you can do is leave her the fuck alone. Jesus fucking Christ, I hate Ellen Pao, but she doesn't deserve a bunch of sociopathic children online making her life hell after she already gave you what you wanted and walked away.

Wow, I think a lot of people may not realize the intent of this post. I'm sure I, as the apologist to OP will also get downvoted (and now for sure downvoted, because for some reasons pointing out that I think this post will be downvoted is viewed as begging or something, and also met with downvotes.), but allow me to explain what I think OP's intent was with this post.

I think he saw all the announcements and such about Ellen Pao this week, and noticed a central theme that we should remember the person behind the internet (this is good advice, especially in response to the amount of vile hate and discontent that was aimed at Ellen herself.) and how a lot of those posts are making Ellen out to be some sort of champion of women's rights and she was bold for the things she did while CEO of reddit even though reddit hated the policies put in place during her tenure. He saw that, and immediately saw the hypocritical nature of it, because if we remeber (pun intended) Ellen, we should automatically assume she was well aware of the circumstances of the people her husband directly affect (and by proxy, she indirectly affected because of her knowledge of his actions. Again, all based on assumption of his guilt [I have no knowledge of his situation, so he may have been found guilty but I have no idea], and the assumption that she knew about his actions.) and therefore if we remember Ellen that way, we see that she is a shitty person. But that's if you make those assumptions.

Ellen Pao really is a monster...

She is the new "thanks Obama" half the time you can't tell if someone is serious or not.

Spell check never catches when "should of" is suppose to be "should have" fucking pao.
