Conversation and nuance is simply not possible in 140. People that only follow me on Twitter remark that I come across as much different in person and on my podcasts.

Twitter is structured to reward A. Controversy. B. Punchiness and C. Humor. None of these strengths are a super great fit at discussing academic feminism.

I have two podcasts on the prestigious Relay.FM network, which has basically moved into a vacuum left by 5by5. The first is Rocket, which is all women discussing tech. The second is Isometric, which is almost all women discussing games with a token dude.

I started them because I was pissed that the subjects I cared about were not getting discussed. If I do say so myself, they are some of the most professionally produced shows in the industry.

Yeah, it sure seems like they're not capable of reflecting on their harassing behavior. At the least, it's good for Ghazi to take a step back and acknowledge, the problem isn't their opinion - it's their harassment.

I would estimate the chances of this happening being around 5 percent.

Obviously, the Zoe Post was extremely harassing. I believe if that happened today, it would get KiA nuked.

Isn't it better for us if they are here, where the Doxxing and threats can be moderated?

I think it's unlikely, but I also think it makes me a better human being to hope that things can change.

Being a cynic is a lot easier than changing the way a giant organization behaves.

This is a great question. Let me answer that.

Look, this is a complicated subject. It's not that publicly calling people out is always good or always bad. This is not a simple litmus test to figure out.

A lot of what makes a woman in a game empowered or not comes down to the creative intent. Similarly, this issue comes down to intent. My goal here isn't to shame him. I'm not suggesting people yell at him, or attack him. My goal is to PROTECT PEOPLE I KNOW IN THE INDUSTRY. There's a huge difference in wanting to protect your friends versus attacking people.

I also don't know him well enough to call him in. And it wouldn't matter if I did.

A lot of people empathetic to feminism follow me on FB and Twitter. Many work in games. I'm trying to be a good friend and inform people that their private thoughts could end up on the internet if they choose to be friends with him.

I'm also not the only person doing this. I only Tweeted this after I saw warnings from other people in public forums. I was like, "Okay, this has been made public. This is something that's okay to talk about."

I tweeted it because I wanted to get the word out. Reddit policies don't allow me to post my own stuff here. It's appreciated.

Yup, on Facebook. I've seen the evidence firsthand.

I don't care if someone doesn't agree with me on women in tech. Some people are just not going to get it - that's how we got here.

But that's another question than violating someone's privacy and betraying confidence. That's not just a difference of opinion - it's a character flaw.

That's fair. Most of my dealing was with that one reporter, and I don't know much about the management. Let's be more specific - they have reporters on staff that are not anti-feminist, and do not seem to be pro-gamergate. Fair?

I feel compelled to say, NicheGamer was amazingly great about reviewing Revolution 60. So, it would not be fair to paint them as pro-Gamergate or antifeminist.

Hey, Irvin700. Since you have such strong opinions about this subject - I have a question for you. How do you know what information I'm looking for from Steam? Maybe you're leaping into a host of mistaken assumptions.

Maybe I'm trying to get them to simply talk to law enforcement. Maybe I'm trying to get information for a subpoena. Maybe it's part of a wider case.

Maybe I'm going through the exact legal process I need to, and maybe I'm in a better position to understand my own life than you are. Maybe you are, in fact, talking out of your ass.

I'm really getting tired of people with strong opinions about my life that are operating on a host of incorrect assumptions.
