AllPB&J banned from Australia? (self.smashbros)

Overheard and saw on a forum post that PB&J wasn't allowed at BAM7, and isn't welcomed back to Australia. Heres to post, little down the page this is said. "PB&J: dont come back to our country." This is super confusing and puzzling to me. I know hes had problem with owing money and such in the past that caused trouble over in the EU, but what happened in Australia that cause him to not be welcomed. Just wondering if I missed something because I was busy or sleeping during most of BAM7 unfortunately. Also going to say this now, this isn't a bash PB&J thread AT ALL. I'm genuinely curious is all. Thank you guys.

Edit Huge thanks to PB&J for taking the time to give us his side of the story. Once again, sorry you are in this situation. Especially since from what you and other people that actually witnessed this are saying that this might have not even been entirely true and you got got kicked out for little to no reason other then accusations from a girl who was intoxicated the previous night when it all happened. Not saying I don't believe either side of this yet, just throwing out my opinion is all.

In the US, jelly is made from fruit juices, whereas jam and preserves are made from crushed up fruits.

Yeah, pretty much. Think of it as a thicker, fruit-flavored syrup.

Preserves are where it's at though, jelly can sit by the wayside.

That's one way to look at it. Jelly will be really smooth and depending on the type might even be translucent. Jam you'll usually see seeds and sometimes pieces of fruit. They are both spreadable.

I think out terms have confused some Brits that we put jello on our breads, which is a gelatin dessert.

        Here is what happened. I went to The Salty Suite before Bam 7 in Melbourne, Australia the thursday before the tourney. Mango, Chillin, Leffen, S2J, Lucky, Alex19, Hugs,Wife, and all the Australian Smashers. The Place is in a cool bar looking place.Everyone was having fun, people were drinking( I dont drink) and people played smash. There was this girl from the area I met there and she was hanging out with Me and and some others. Afterwards, we went to another Bar called "Abc" just to chill, SD, Skeletom, and about 10-12 others were with us also. Mango,Hugs, and some others met up with us a little later. The Girl that was with us was drinking some Tequila drinks. (She had 4 in total) She wanted more drinks but I said you should probably stop and she did. We then were all walking around the CBD in Australia(The City of Melbourne) looking for more places to go to. We finally found some place and by this time it was about 1-2am in the morning. I think their was about 12-15 of us give or take in the place. We were at that place for about 30 minutes or so until it closed. The trains at this time were closed and I asked Reef(the Australian Smasher I was with) if he could give her a ride to her car. She parked it at a train station about 10-15 minutes away. Reef being cool said yes and he drove her. In the Car it was Reef driving, Nathan in the passenger seat, and the Girl and I in the back seat. Both of our seat belts were on but we were holding hands and kinda cuddled up. We finally get to her car about 10-15 minutes and we part ways. the Girl and I planned to meet up at the Pm tourney they were having the next day. The next day came and I entered Pm doubles and Singles( I took leffen's spot since he didnt show up) The girl never showed up but messaged me and said she was going to come later to watch the top 8. Top 8 was at a different venue, it was at the Bam 7 venue. So I finally get there and play some melee friendlies with Australian's best and even play Spud from New Zealand( That guy is amazing) The Girl finally shows up and I asked her how she was and if she remembered everything from last night since she was Intoxicated a bit. She sad bits and pieces,I said ok and she said she doesnt want to get drunk like that again. After that interaction I sat down to watch Pm Top 8 and started to get tired. So I walked over to the fgc side of the venue and went to sleep on a couch for about 30 minutes or so. Someone woke me up and said they are calling you to the front.So I went to the front and Redact asked me to step outside to talk to me about something.He asked if I remember the Girl from last night. He then said that she said I was being inappropriate in the car ride when I asked what was said he said he didnt want to repeat. He then said that he didnt know what was true or not but that fact is that she told us she doesnt feel comfortable with you here and we made the decision to not let you attend Bam 7 and you will be getting a refund.

        I was frustrated because it was words of a Girl(she is 26 btw) that was intoxicated the night before and doesnt even remember all that happened and I was with all those people . I dont take advantage of Drunk Girls and now i had to watch Bam 7 not attend it. I know some might not like me in this thread and yes I had some Issues many years ago in the smash community but all of those were resolved. I dont want to make this a big thing but since this on reddit i'm sure some of you will eat up all this drama.

        Yeah, This is Reef. Basically what PB has said it true, it was an unwarranted and completely unexpected complaint. But people who were there and had accounts taken didn't know all the details. the claim unfortunately had to be taken seriously or else risk not only Melbourne smash but Couchwarriors as well. It sucks that's what happened though.

        I am hoping to get greater influence over the smash community to prevent things like this happening again

        What happens between two people outside of your event is, frankly, none of your concern.

        You aren't judge and jury guys. You shouldn't be banning people from your event based on hearsay. If someone claims to have been sexually assaulted by someone else (that's what this sounds like) then that is a matter for the police, not you.

        At this point this situation is exceptionally dangerous and you're placing yourself in the middle of a scenario that will start a witchhunt for BOTH people. People will side with him and call her a liar, people will side with her and call him a predator. It will get blown out of hand and proportion.

        You would never see any business ban someone from using their business on the basis of outside gossip and accusations. That shouldn't happen here.

        If a guy accused another guy of being inappropriate with them when drunk would you also be banning them? What about if a guy accused her of being inappropriate in the car and finding it uncomfortable being around her?

        Think through how to proceed from here very carefully. Whatever the truth of the matter is you should not have put yourselves at the centre of this. It is a matter for the two individuals involved and is absolutely none of anybody else's business, be it the event, the audience to this as a result of this thread on reddit, or anyone else.

        If the Smash community can't see that whatever happened between those two individuals is none of their business and should be handled by police if anything genuinely wrong occurred then they're a bunch of children that just want to ride the drama train.

        Not that it's any of my business either. But take it from someone that's seen this rodeo before. Disinvolve yourselves. This is going to get very nasty for both the girl and him rapidly now that it's getting an audience. The TOs need to sort out their position immediately, the more you involve yourself the more likely you end up in the stand in court because you've heard x person say y and z person say x and so on and so forth. It gets ridiculous and it ruins lives.

          I'm rather appalled by this. Why didn't the TOs simply immediately speak to the witnesses?

          The guy flew overseas for the event, DQ'ing him on hearsay is a major issue. The girl should be banned from future events for false accusations if she made false claims. False claims of sexual harassment should have a zero tolerance policy because it undermines every legitimate victim.

          If she made uncertain statements and the TO overreacted, then PBnJ has been rather seriously wronged by him, because flying to Australia for their event was a huge cost.

          Further, were it true, it sounds like a police matter rather than something for the TO to punish the attendee on. The alleged events did not happen at the tournament nor was he accused of harassment at the venue.

          If this accusation had been levied against Mew2King or Chillin or Wife, I doubt that this would have been how it was treated.

          Nathan here, was there the whole night and in the car, didn't see it hear any funny business at all.

          They called me up on the night asking me if anything weird happened in the car without giving me any context, of course I said no. When I asked about it, he said it was nothing and said he'd see me tomorrow

          Obviously you have to take harassment claims seriously, and no one can tell her she wasn't uncomfortable, but she seemed fine the whole night, and as far as I can tell PB did nothing to offend her the next day, completely unwarranted outburst that could have been solved by talking to PB himself instead of a TO

            This should be between pbnj and the TO, not public, sadly, unless the TO is refusing to budge. This whole situation becomes dramatic when revealed in this manner.

            I have no idea whether this is true or not, but I really hope /r/theredpill or /r/mensrights don't find out. This post seems tailored to get certain types of redditors enraged.

            they don't and shouldn't though, especially in this case. She was incredibly intoxicated (enough to not really remember the night), and there are witnesses that were with them the entire time. If they say anything different from pb&j, sure there could be a problem, but if they agree, he deserves a huge apology from Redact and a full refund (maybe even for the wasted trip as well).

            I'd like to hear what Reef and Nathan have to say about it. They were in the car and would be the best people to ask. Redact just knows what the girl told her, and her testimony is unreliable given her state of intoxication on that night.

                  As a GA melee player for many years (and former swf enthusiast), I heard about all the shady stuff years ago. I think people can grow up and change, and none of that should have anything to do with this situation.

                  In general, smash players are hyper sensitive about a lot of things. Treatment and respect for women is one of them, which is ironic because most smash players dont see women as what they are, aka just people. PArt of the reason that I dont play anymore, tbh.

                  I dont doubt that he may be the same person on the inside, but you can learn how to act or not to act without changing your nature... e.g a disciplined child vs a wild child, who have essentially the same desires and needs but one understands consequences of actions and the other doesnt.

                  I just dont see the point judging peoples hypothetical actions based on their past character and past actions... there are too many dots to connect to say something meaningful, and im just not comfortable living in that space of saying things that are disconnected from events.

                  Also people in this community are more needy than the average person in my experience, so any discussion that comes from this kind of drama is gonna be off the mark.

                    Holding hands and resting head on shoulders, hand on lap? That kind of thing pretty much covers it. After a night out drinking people tend to get handsy so it happens, especially if a girl is drunk, 90% of the time they just want to lay on someone, hell i've passed out some dudes shoulder in a car ride before (i'll never get that wasted again).

                    Unfortunately it's impossible to know the truth here and his passengers apparently didn't see anything. Nothing should've been done in my opinion and it's not up to the TOs to ban him from tournaments on just the other party's word.

                      I'm sure he said he didn't do anything wrong. However, when it comes to this sort of thing, it's generally "guilty until proven innocent." It's unfortunate, but in a lot of ways you're left powerless in these situations where you don't have proof. If the people he was with say "I don't know, I just know they were together" (I mean, they probably weren't looking in the back seat the entire time), then what else can he say? "Fuming" would only have riled up everyone else (and I don't think having a bunch of riled up Australians would be in his best interest).

                        Evans had problems with money in the past but he (to my knowledge) paid everyone back the money he owed them.

                        My stepfather paid for one of his flights (i believe Apex or Pound ?) And though it took a bit he finally returned the money to me, PLUS interest.

                        The best part was that he was the one that approached me at a tournament and said that he was sorry that it took a long time to get the money back. He gave me the cash in hand after he found me at the tourney without me asking for it.

                        I wasn't at BAM7 or anything. But Evan is one of the few cases in which I believe a person truly did change for the better.

                              OK. For the record I had issues in the past about 6 years ago in the community and all of them were resolved But This Australia stuff.. I have a few witnesses from Australia who can say that known of these rumors are true and it kinda sucks that the way this went down. I know not every single person likes me in the community for a few things in the past but its crazy how so quick people are to judge over rumors with not even hearing the whole story.

                                  "Banned from Australia" is the most hyperbolic statement you could take from the source. The source is just a shoutout to PB&J telling him not to come back to Australia. He's simply pissed off the Australian smash community (or a subset of it) and they are no longer welcoming him into Australian smash events, and if this attitude has extended to event organizers then he obviously isn't going to be able to get into any of the events, such as BAM7. Although what i'm not clear on is why does anybody care about this?

                                    Guys if you want at least get an idea of why pbnj might be banned look up "pbnj banned from pound v." You'll find tons of stories of him being a total scumbag. Imo the only reason he hasn't been banned from the U.S. community is that he has some influential friends like D1 who always show up and accuse people of being ignorant and "not knowing the full story" despite the immense evidence that he is a liar, creep, and scammer.

                                        I just want to say that I'm really happy with the way those involved are handling it in here. Whatever happened doesn't concern the vast majority of people here, and no one here is entitled to the details. Reddit has a terrible track record of being drama-hungry, and demanding to act as the judge and jury with every piece of drama they can get. More importantly there's a horrible track record of being over-eager to jump down someone's throat at the first mention of one side of a story.

                                        All of the comments here about how "shady behavior should be exposed!" or "come on, you have to tell us!" is disappointing and, honestly, embarrassing. Most people here are completely removed from the people and places involved.

                                        Reddit needs to stop frothing at the mouth at the whisper of some sweet, juicy drama. It's immature and embarrassing.

                                              To be perfectly honest, everyone in the smash community knows that PBnJ just takes money and doesn't pay people back. It has been a running trope since at least 2009. I'm not surprised they weren't happy about it, and I wonder when the community at large will respond. There was a pretty big response in 2010 but it continues to happen and people continue not to say anything.
