See, that's what I disagree with. You shouldn't have to pay $100k just because you were an asshole.

Okay, cut out the unrelated parts of the story and you get 2 facts:

  1. The guy refused service because they were gay
  2. The guy posted their personal info on facebook

So, I'm assuming they received harassment as a result of the facebook thing? That's the only way I see the baker as responsible for that much in damages...

Removed for screenshot and personal info. Also, yes they are filming a second one.

Yea, honestly I have to agree... I'm not sure how the courts justified that much. I would think like $10k would have been plenty. Maybe they really pissed off the judge?

Yes, clearly all scientists are involved in a giant conspiracy where they're unable to break free and actually express what they actually believe/feel because.. oh I don't know, lets say the Illuminati? sure, that works.

In my experience liberals actually don't defend Islam anymore than they do Christianity, the difference is that many conservatives are moronic in their criticisms of Islam (e.g. they worship the moon god, they're all terrorists, Obama is a Muslim, they're pushing for Sharia in the usa, etc) and liberals point out the bullshit... that doesn't mean they like islam, they just also happen to dislike bullshit.

Uh, didn't they already forgive like 50% of the debt???

edit:

On 27 October 2011, eurozone leaders and the IMF also came to an agreement with banks to accept a 50% write-off of (some part of) Greek debt

Instead the banks loaned them money because the banks knew they could probably get a bailout. It was low risk because EZ and IMF would help them.

Or because they had political pressure from the EZ and IMF to do the loaning to begin with.

Regardless, the Greeks have done fuck-all to hold anyone accountable, they just keep saying "it was those past bad greeks, not us!" over and over, and it's bullshit.

ModSupport 内の Deimorz によるリンク What are some *small* problems with moderation that we can fix quickly?

[–]jij 7ポイント8ポイント  (0子コメント)

  1. allow moderators to see the subreddit-level karma for users... if only for the subs they mod. A user with 5000 karma but -300 karma in my sub is a big difference! I assume /u/honestbleeps would grab that data in the next version of RES.
  2. ability to filter a user's history by subs we moderate... so we can delete everything a troll spammed easily.
  3. multiple flair for stories! a lot of subs use flair to tag stories now, and many times it falls under more than one category!
  4. nuke-all-comments-below-this option... removing long chains of shit is annoying without that.
  5. Having the option to get an alert when someone edits a wiki page
  6. Having the option of getting an alert when someone is banned, even if they haven't replied yet... it's useful to track bannings to make sure all mods are on the same page.

edit: 5 and 6 really should probably be a whole separate "alerts" thing, different from modmail... everyone users modmail or the modmailer thing for alerts, but really modmail should be for user-queries and alerts shouldn't be spamming that up as much as it does for most of us... something to think about when you redesign modmail into something spectacular (no pressure)!
