So it sounds like SHE decided to get vaccinated on her own free will and is 16 and, therefore not subject to your whims in this any longer?

Getting popcorn- BRB.

Make extra for the rest of us please

He has the popcorn, I'm bringing the Makers. What are you bringing to our little soiree?

Given the location of OP I think it is only fitting that someone brings some Tim Horton's

Well, thanks for volunteering! Looking forward to seeing what you bring!

I'm about as far away from a Tim Hortons as you can get in North America. (I guess if I were in Miami I would be further away, or deep south Texas)

I'll stick with a local specialty like Tampa Cigars or maybe one of our many breweries..

I make a rally good beer cheese dip and homemade pretzels

[–]Ramady 4

One of these days we need to do a /r/legaladvice recipe swap.

I've got some Cajun Chicken egg rolls I can contribute to this!

I want /u/napalmenator's beer cheese dip and homemade pretzels recipe.. (i'll even sign a release absolving you of liability for any subjective complaints of it not being good, any scrivener's errors in the recipies, or due to any acts or omissions of myself or any of my agents, heirs, assigns, xenu, popeye, related to this recipe)

For them off the internet. So no IP issues. I will link to them. Give me a minute to find them.

Note: the pretzels are only good same day. They get weird and chewy the next day. Still good but not guest/party quality.

Edit:

Cheese dip

Pretzels

Napalmenator delivers!

Edit: bye bye diet

I read the link for the cheese dip as cumblog and was infuriated...and intrigued...

[–]Ramady 1

I can contribute a great chicken schnitzel recipe, or a handful of damn good popcorn recipes.

I've also got a very simple meatball recipe that I cook for a crowd every sunday, and a great oven cooked bbq rib recipe if you've got all day to wait for them.

I would love popcorn recipes. My husband had mastered making it on the stove. But would take any flavor tips

Oh man, that would be great.

I make some great ramen noodles. I put an egg in it while it is cooking. Delicious.

[–]Ramady 1

You gotta step up your college grub game, son! Learn a few pasta dishes from scratch, it'll get you laid.

Hahaha! I don't know about pasta from scratch . . . but I can cook if I set my mind to it! Usually just too lazy . . .

Yes please. I was looking up recipes for that the other day, but it was in the upper 90s here and seemed like lots of work.

Kudos to your daughter for taking the responsibility for her own health.

What kind of action can we take against public health and the clinic for vaccinating a child without parental consent?

You can send them a nice thank-you card...maybe some chocolates.

a sheet cake would go further, and cost less (at least less than chocolate worth eating..)

Sounds to me like despite being ignorant of the science and benefits of vaccinations you accidentally raised a daughter who is not, and decided to do the responsible thing on her own.

Please reconsider your decision not to vaccinate your children. Regardless,

"Ontario is different from many other provinces in that it affords children complete control over their own health-care decisions unless they are deemed incapable by a physician."

http://m.thestar.com/#/article/news/gta/2015/01/20/ontario-law-allows-children-to-determine-medical-care.html

So you, despite being your daughters mother, cannot stop her from getting treatment against her will.

How did you "accident[ly]" come to find this out?

Heres what I can find on Ye Ole Canada:

Age of consent

The legal age of majority has become progressively irrelevant in determining when a young person may consent to his or her medical treatment. As a result of consideration and recommendations by law reform groups as well as the evolution of the law on consent, the concept of maturity has replaced chronological age. The determinant of capacity in a minor has become the extent to which the young person's physical, mental, and emotional development will allow for a full appreciation of the nature and consequences of the proposed treatment, including the refusal of such treatments.

Legislation in a number of provinces and the territories has codified the law on consent, including the reliance on maturity in assessing a young person's capacity to consent to or refuse medical treatment. Only the Province of Quebec has established a fixed age of 14 years, below which the consent of the parent or guardian or of the court is necessary for the purposes of proposed treatment.

Generally, where the minor patient lacks the necessary capacity, the parents or guardian are authorized to consent to treatment on the minor's behalf. In doing so, the parents or guardian must be guided by what is in the best interests of the minor. This consideration becomes all the more important when the parent or guardian seeks to refuse treatment the physician regards as medically necessary. In these circumstances, there is an obligation on the part of physicians to report the matter to child protection authorities.

The bottom line:

The determinant of capacity in a minor has become the extent to which the young person's physical, mental, and emotional development will allow for a full appreciation of the nature and consequences of the proposed treatment, including the refusal of such treatments.

Generally, where the minor patient lacks the necessary capacity, the parents or guardian are authorized to consent to treatment on the minor's behalf, and must be guided by what is in the best interests of the minor.

So you likely have no case.

No, you do not have a case for a lawsuit. Your daughter is old enough to make her own medical decisions, which she did. She is also entitled to medical privacy.

Your daughter has much better sense than you and your husband. Vaccinate your other kids before they die or kill someone else!

Did she get autism?

Sounds like she's a functioning adult and can make her own decisions. Turn off your helicopter blades and congratulate your daughter for not potentially exposing your other children to deadly diseases.

Did she get autism?

Well she will now!

Definitely! Former Playboy models are totes smarter than those silly money grubbing doctors.

She's the only one in the family who's been allowed to receive injection of biological materials for years.

Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis, polio, measles, mumps, rubella, hep a and b, menengitis a and b and hpv

So just to be clear, exactly which of these are you hoping your children come down with?

You've already been told that your daughter is legally allowed to make her own medical decisions. Respect that, and respect the rest of your children if they decide to do the same.

Give her a huge high-five! As for you and your husband, you should be really proud of your daughter being smarter than her parents.

Is there a particular reason you didn't want your children vaccinated? It seems your daughter disagrees with whatever your reason is and has taken control of her own body. Even paid out of her own pocket. Maybe you should focus more on the idea that your daughter has now spent her own hard earned money on something she feels strongly about, and that perhaps it's time to reexamine your stance on the subject?

This must suck to be a OP. You post a question and this bot comes up essentially saying "People think you are a jackass." Who runs this bot? It needs a delay timer.

It certainly needs to wait until OP gives us some responses, right now I'm just sitting here eating popcorn and the fireworks aren't going off.

It must suck to be this mothers other children. And every other child that is put at risk.

So your non-ignorant 16 year old daughter sought to immunise herself from disease for free? Thank fuck!

Also I found this

Ontario law allows children to determine medical care

In Ontario, the law is that everyone, even people younger than age 12, can make their own decisions about their health, including choosing ‘alternative treatments,’ traditional medicines and culturally appropriate treatment.

When you kids get measles and spread them to someone else, can those people then sue you for negligence? That's what I really want to know.
