y is it when I hear feminism talked about it always talks about women and rape, but never men who are raped? they say its about men & women

Manslation: The only time I ever bring up the rape of men or boys is when I’m trying to score points in a discussion that I see as a competition instead of being about actual people’s lives.

I don’t actually talk with feminists, or I would know that they continually address all rape—not just rape of women and girls. (Certainly don’t expect me to stop and think about why it might be more common to talk about the rape of women. Or why it’s ridiculous to be surprised that a movement that was created to help women—but will also result in benefits for men—centers women in its discourse and praxis.)

I don’t listen to any men who have been raped, either—or I’d know that every time this comes up, a bunch of them point out that it was often women who believed and supported them and dudebros like me who blew them off or even laughed. And they then explicitly tell people like me to stop using them as nothing more than tools to try to tear feminism down, to be used and discarded when they’re no longer a convenient debate tactic.

My local MRA chapter gave me a Rolodex full of objections to feminism when I joined, and every 90 minutes I spin through it and pick one out.
