So, I recently took a hiatus from observing about Bitcoin for a little while. What has happened within the recent months, weeks and days? Also, why did I never get my check for March?

Someone/various people have been DDOSing the bitcoin network, probably to prove that the block size limit really does need to go up from 1 meg to 20 megs as some of them want to do.

As Greece has been financially collapsing, bitcoiners have been foaming at the mouth over the idea that maybe the nation of Greece might switch to Bitcoin. There's no evidence that anything like that might happen, of course. Also, they managed to con CNN into publishing a story saying that Greeks are rushing to buy bitcoins, which of course they actually aren't.

These are the two biggies, there's lots of the usual silliness going on as well.

A neckbeard civil war has erupted among the developers. Last I had heard they were pulling out board games to settle it like "real men" as it were. Oh and Chinese miners are only in it for the money or something.

Where are we at?

Butters handed over more of their actual money to Chinese electricity thiefs, temporarily pumping up the price of butts, while scheming to dump them onto unsuspecting Greeks. The same Greeks who have no cash for groceries or gas, and are banned from transfering money overseas.

What did the Chinese electricity thiefs do with the extra cash? It sure wasn't validating blocks - some miners are mining on top of invalid blocks, which has created 2 long lasting forks with the resulting clusterfuck and official advice to wait at least 10 hrs to avoid a doublespend.

Of course, your transaction will not even get into a block within 10hrs, because some dude is flooding the network with 500 euros worth of spam, creating massive backlogs. That, and a bunch of miners are mining empty blocks, because... free market or something.

So basically bitcoin is now almost unusable for even buying cp and meth. Putting a money order in the mail is now faster than a bitcoin transaction. To the moon!
