Don't tell anyone you have it and carry on with your life. Seriously.

Most people have HSV-1. Does anyone bother telling you that they have it (anyone who's gotten a cold sore knows they have it) before you kissed them or shared a drink? No, nor were they expected to even though it is also an incurable virus. Why is HSV-2 different? Simply because it is typically spread through sexual activity and shows up (usually) on your junk instead of your face. Personally, I'd rather have 2 because I can hide it during an outbreak.

HSV-1 would ruin your SMV just as much if before everytime you kissed someone you warned them you have it. That's why no one does. They don't give a shit if they pass it on. HSV-2 should be no different.

I always ask about cold sores before a make out session. Although I have to assume I am immune or don't show symptoms at this point, with 100+ make out partners and no cold sore.

You very likely have it. Most people don't show.

Also, most STD tests don't even test for herpes. Doctors don't really care because it's not a serious medical issue.

You can get HSV-1 on your reproduction system. It's not just contained to the lips. However, it's like 90% of people over 50 have it. When your great aunt came over to see the new born, and gives them a peck on the lips... yup, herpes. Either way, it's just a different form of chicken pox, that only breaks out when your immune system is low.

And you can get HSV-2 on the lips. All that shit is the same. The worst part is the social stigma. I see no reason to subject yourself to that.
