It's like the "no politics" rules on many subs like /r/news, if rules are applied unevenly then it's just not right, because the rules are inevitably used to censor things that the people in power don't agree with.

Reddit has done the same thing with banning /r/fph, suddenly posting info that is openly posted on the internet to reddit is "doxxing" and making fun of pictures is "harassment." The rules applied to us about posting contact info for email campaigns was done for a similar reason. Many subs that don't support the SJW "narrative" are threatened with deletion for posting any non-np links to other subs because that encourages "brigading" whereas subs that do support the narrative are immune to those same rules.

They took this further by banning any new clone subs with no comment or reason. It went far into the realm of banning ideas and not actions.

Furthermore none of these rules are openly available, and the published rules are very simple.

It's like the internet gestapo. It's not about breaking the rules, it's about pissing off the wrong people, who will then adjust the rules to rationalize punishing you.

I get what you're saying, I do. Although I can't see /r/fph being banned and the rules being bent as a bad thing, posts where making it the front page and imo hateful subs like that showing some random innocent women or man's face deserve to be banned. After that, they banned other subs because people began a giant circle jerk and spammed almost the entire site with /r/fph like pictures, and those subs that were a part of that where as a result banned. For the first night of that shit storm that was in no way anything about fighting censorship, it became that when users realised the were not going to get away with spamming the site with /r/fph like postings. I think it's past due that some subs do need to come back, the situation could have been handled better on both ends.

You don't think people would say the exact same things if this sub were banned?

(I'm not sure if I understand your question)Like I said people were not at first upset about censorship but about their chuckle factory/hate group /r/fph being taken away from them, they acted out in childish manner and then demanded swift justice. If /r/kotakulnaction had contributed to the spamming it would deserved the same actions. (Sorry if I'm annoying or upsetting you btw).

You're not being annoying at all.

I was referring to the opinions about the fph ban, not the reaction by their users after.

If KIA was banned, people might justify it on the grounds that we're just a bunch of pissed off whiny neckbeard misogynists.

I don't think the content of a sub alone warrants a ban, even if it's reprehensible, as long as it's legal and within the rules. Those rules should be open and concrete.
