Blackout2015 内の 845FED によるリンク New Modtalk Leak: '/r/ModTalk seems like a very level-headed community. Can we have a balanced conversation about reddit's CEO, Ellen Pao, and what reddit inc. can do about the "We hate Ellen Pao" situation?'

Yes, all these are authentic and untampered other than the necessary redaction. This is how power mods are always thinking of themselves and giving way to their urge to control the users. There are a couple good apples in there, but likely they are recent additions and will become rotten soon enough.

Currently working on trying a few things, but in the meantime the safest thing to do is to not leak a conversation you've taken part in.

If you still strongly desire to leak, you'll have to look over it carefully, especially around where it would hide and show your username, and color of the text in the replies. And as always, have subreddit styles disabled, future reddit changes seem to be in the direction of styles from the subreddit being applied to the modmail.

This works in conjunction with disabling a subreddit's style and most of the rules are for catchmes. For example this userstyle removes the (edit) bellow a comment so if you are participating in the discussion, you won't slip up, forget about it, and be caught. I'd like to thank one of the comments of go1dfish for inspiring that.

If you don't trust js, you don't need the JS one-click install version, you can install sylish addon from firefox or chrome store and then paste the code in manually by clicking "show css" and copying it in.

Now for the code.

Most rules are as follows:

element {
visibility: hidden !important;
}

Element is the item in the page, visibility is the option, and hidden says to hide it. "important" says this rule overrides others. The larger rules are about resetting elements to the defaults, for example if you were friends with somebody, and that showed a "red" user, and you weren't thinking about it, xxxDEIMORZxxx the admin behind automod could abuse his admin powers and look who is friends with a person and out you.

Here is w3school on the visibility property:

http://www.w3schools.com/cssref/pr_class_visibility.asp

They are the first hit when you search for "visiblity css" in google.

There are comments on the rules, so you are free to delete any section you don't understand or trust, this style has your back, but the best method of course as stated in the readme, is crop your screenshot and check everything, which is still your responsibility in the end.

And of course the cancer in /r/modtalk say that when they stopped moderating for a planned month, week, etc, the users begged them to come back, and the experiment failed in days.

It is called moderation as in you should use it moderately, you don't take your hands off the wheel of the car, this isn't fight club, you aren't supposed to give the sub a near life experience and expect it to go well.

Instead of outright removing borderline posts, give feedback to posts and tag them with flair suggesting why they are poor, many defaults already are, but then they go overboard and also remove the post and nobody else in the sub learns nearly as much about what is appropriate. Tag things as duplicate and let the poster be downvoted, they won't be as apt to do so and people will become cautious.

If you do have to remove, make sure they are truly off topic like porn videos in a sfw news subreddit. Try to aim towards only removing posts and comments with personal info and gently guide the rest of the posts.

It does work, there are plenty of large subs with light moderation. Don't drive your subreddit into the ground with a team of moderators with a lead foot on the gas pedal.

No, KarmicViolence had it out for your sub only this time, they have been campaigning for over a week. When they don't like how things are they yell and scream until they gets their way, this is true any place they hang out at. They'll even do the thing they are yelling about until it becomes such a nuisance the people in charge need to step in. They are two faced, justifying their actions in the most opportunist way possible, doing so one way in one place, and in another way some other place. They could care less about stealing the pennies out of your hands, your harmless living, who knows how much they would steal if they could.

Here is the recent discussion modtalk leaks, it is a shame it only paints such a partial picture, but it compliments the full one that you get from the comments they have made in your sub that shows just how selfish, oppressive , onerous, tyrannical, bleak, despotic, dismal and dispiriting they are... :

I'd ban the people in that conversation, especially KarmicViolence from your sub, as they will continue to act until this place is banned and burnt into the ground, spamming it up with scripts along with their pals that they coordinate with, yelling to the admins, and calling in their cronies if need be to get the place shut down. They will do this on a whim. At least you can get some cathartic pleasure that a ban is justified as they have done nothing but been disruptive, insincere and with ill intent here. Profiting from misery is of poor taste.

Works hand in hand with banning the largest contributors of the community to further warp things behind the scenes, which would happen even more around election time. Even better if the users of the subreddit don't know about the election being rigged or that userbase modifications are happening.
